COD:Advance Warfare

Doubt it. Hype will die down within 2 months at most. All previous attempts at CoD servers were failures.

I was in the CoD division for years.. I will be up at midnight, giving Advanced Warfare a try. I have my doubts that it won't be up to my Cod4 standards, but i'll keep an open mind :-)

We will just have to wait and see. Just like with Ghosts, they SAID there will be rent-able servers, so we'll see... For now, I'm waiting 2 weeks to read some reviews on it till I buy it.

I played it for awhile this morning. It's very nice.

I think people forget that different companies have made some of the CoD games. Some are a hit, some are a fail.

Ghost and MW3 were made by the same company, Infinity Ward. Both had extreme issues with support. Neither of them were ready for release. The obvious hackers were numerous, and the manufacturer didn't seem to care.

It was like, "We don't care if you stop playing it, we already have your money."

I won't buy another game from Infinity Ward. They really brought the CoD franchise down.

On the other hand, BO1 and BO2 made by Treyarch. Both were extremely successful and very popular. Most of the die hard CoD people stopped playing Ghost and went back to BO2.

The difference between the two companies was night and day. Treyarch had their stuff together. Both Black Ops were playable from day 1, had constant support and an effort to ban hackers.

Infinity Ward.. just sucked big time. Ghost was sooo full of bugs and other issues it was sad. How do you even release something like that??? I guess money talks.

Advanced Warfare is made by yet another company, "Sledgehammer Games".

I played 5 or 6 rounds of TDM this morning and was very pleased with it.

I had NO lag, no stuttering, no frame rate drops, the scrolling was smooth, etc. It was very well done.

Such a relief after Ghost.

Do recall that Infinity Ward developed the first two CoD games, as well as CoD4 (Modern Warfare 1) and Modern Warfare 2. Those games were both substantially more successful than MW3 or Ghosts.

Also note that Sledgehammer games essentially took over the last bit of MW3 development, due to huge changes at IW which led to the formation of Respawn Entertainment (the company that made Titanfall).

Maybe this game is of higher quality than some of the recent installments to the franchise, however I won't be doling out $60 for the game. The concept is dead and they've entirely ruined both the competitive and community sides of the series and those were the only reasons I played it.

sadly, i wont be getting this game... the hype titanfall had is an example these games just dont do well without the dedicated community support... Kevin spacey was a desperation.

So far there are a lot of good reviews on the game, so i'll give it a try soon

They always say they support dedicated servers, but they're not rentable or customisable.

I'm waiting for confirmation on the dedicated servers before getting this game.

As far as I know, there are no dedicated servers.

Sadly, I see more and more games moving away from that format.

The series lost me after Mod Warfare (CoD 4) WoW and later parts of the series just were for lack of better terms, crap IMO.

So unless maybe I find a way to DL torrent wise to try it first, I won't be spending money on it.

I do miss CoD 4....that game was awesome.

So how is advanced warfare, I wanted to get opinions before I bought it, disappointed with ghosts.

I like it.

I hit a bit of lag yesterday, but I think it was my ping, and not the servers.

You can see your ping again. Mine was really low. I left the lobby and rejoined, and was better.

No dedicated servers, uses match making.

Does have a clan option, so it's going to do "something" with clans. Probably something like Ghost did.. the more people in your "clan" that are in your lobby, the more experience you get... and clan wars, etc.

Ok thanks dragon, I'm still going to let it have some updates though, there's got to be some bugs with it. And I saw the most ironic thing ever at my Walmart yesterday, so the promotion was buy advanced warfare, Doritos and mtn dew in the same purchase and get a special exoskeleton. Anyone else see the "mlg" irony? I found that funnier than anything.

Been hearing its actually a good game from people at my school who completely gave up on the series after WoW/MW2. (I do apologize for my previous comment btw)
