It has been a while since the last Realism Campaign we had, and it has been even longer since the last scrim tournament we had. We cannot host another Realism Campaign for a couple reasons, but we may be able to roll out a scrim tournament like the one we had in 2013.

This tournament would be very similar to the one from 2013. We could implement a few improvements to make the teams more balanced. Also, we may possibly have some very cool prizes.

But before we can open up the sign-ups and post the schedules, we have to know if there is enough interest to even host a tournament. We do not have a specific date, but the tournament would start mid-late January and would last about 5-6 weeks with playoffs.

This poll is to gauge the amount of players we could expect to sign up. It is not a matter of percentage of votes for, but rather the quantity.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

I said maybe... it really depends on how many practices there are, and what days of the week practices/scrims would be on

Scrims would be held in the evenings throughout the week like last time. As for practice, that would be completely up to the team captains.

If they're around the same times as we hold normal events then I might give it a try (EDIT: Which looking at the past tourney thread, they are. Awesome

i'm down i would just need the practice times and everything to be known to me beforehand so i can make sure i'm not doing anything.
i'm usually free in the evenings but my schedule is weird and hectic

Yes, I'm down for this. And I didn't tick it for some reason but if there is a shortage of team captains I'm up for it.

Same here, I'd love to be a captain but I'm sure there are many others that are more capable. I'm a bit out of practice for dods but I can still aim a gun :)

What is scrim and can I be an MG? seems to be the only thing I am good at so far. :)

The scrims are 6v6, mad rushing and taking flags. Ticks are worth a point each, and capouts are worth 50. After 20 minutes, the teams switch sides and do it again. I dont think there is a rule against MG, but that is one less person to push forward as part of the team to cap flags. Normally, I think its 2 autos, 3 rifles, and a sniper? or rocket? I cant recall, but I have never seen someone use MG class in a scrim type of setting. It doesnt matter if you are not good, the teams will be mixed based on skill of all players, so it should be pretty even, if Im not mistaken. Im sure Chuck can correct me if I was off on anything.

If you have the time, I would suggest signing up. They are very intense, and all players could learn a little something about teamwork, map knowledge, and weapon usage. You would enjoy it, even if you have your ass handed to you on a regular basis like I do :)

I would be willing to be a team captain, but only if you cant find others.

I used to be on our CAL team back in the day and yea pretty much everything you said was right qtip. Maps were usually pretty small maps so it was actually a lotta fun with 6 on 6. much more strategy and moving around. Hopefully we can get enough teams to make it fun.

Can i bring my own team?

Team selection will most likely happen as a draft, with team captains picking their teams.

This is correct. Even though the MG class is open, it is not used in scrims. While your team is being pushed back to your first or second flag, when the MG would be most useful in pub games, in comp you need to push back. As long as you can move forward and communicate, you will be contributing to the team.

So far we have 23 people. If you guys want this to happen, spread the word and get more votes!

My maybe is more of an 'it depends'. It depends on the timing, the day, the amount of commitment. I'm interested but not 100% in.
