Hey guys, as the title states, I have been getting blue screen for the last day or so with the message ("Hardware Malfunction"). Now I think it is because when I plug or unplug my jack that is connected to my speakers, it pops up that error message. But I just want to be sure that that isn't the cause of it. So what do you guys think this error could mean? Any help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like you might have a loose memory card - Check inside your computer and maybe remove then put back in the memory cards, or just give them a gentle 3-point-push (push it on the left, middle, right)
Also if it looks dusty/dirty, cleaning it out might help as well

There are a buch of possibilities here from the vague description so to narrow this and save you a bit of trouble i am going to ask a few questions
1 Does this happen at random outside of removing the device?
2 Have you done any driver changes / installations of hardware recently?
3 what audio device is it? This sounds most likely an issue directly with the device and its hardware which means possibly a corrupted driver or conflict.
4 What version of Windows are you using?
5 Have you noticed odd slowdowns on games?
6 You mention a sound device have you noticed any changes in sound quality / stuff?
7 Is it a motherboard soundcard or a hardware soundcard that you installed? ( if its one you installed make sure its seated properly and test if it happens anymore this can cause it to.)

1) This only happens when I plug or unplug something from the jack.
2) I did increase my hard drive space a few days ago, but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with this...
3) I am not sure how to answer this question.. If you mean what I think you mean, then it is a regular speaker with a boombox and two speakers....
4) I am currently using Windows 7.
5) No slowdowns have been noticed. It's been about the same speed since I started playing on this computer.
6) Well, to be exact, one of the speakers does not work at all.. It is completely blown out. And sometimes the speakers won't even work..
7) I am not sure of at this point.. My grandpa is going to reseat my motherboard and see if that works..
Hopefully that answers all of your questions. I'm not as tech savvy as my grandpa is, so yeah..
