Same IP ???

Hi, admins
is ego (DOD) blocking the same IP , never had this problem before, my roommate and I used to able to play at the same server , now only one of us can login to the server,
it happened since sometime Feb 2015 ,
please take a look and fix it maybe?? Thank you so much !!!!!

Two people playing from the same place should not be a problem. Me and my brother can play from the same room, so i don't see how that alone should be a problem? When you say the same ip, you mean the same router right?

well if that's the case then it's not really a problem we can solve

Not sure if this has anything to do with your connection issue...but all of our DoD:S servers were recently moved to new IPs.

By, "roommate" do you mean college dorm roommate? If so, some colleges autoblock the ports to connect to certain things.

I have the same problem. My daughter started to play last night and she really likes the game. So i deicided to get her own Steam account on her computer and then buy DODS from steam for her. We play side by side on the same desk with different computers.

Of course she wants to play with daddy but we cannot join the same EGO server at the same time. If she joined DONNER first, when i try to join the same server i get the "DISCONNECT Connection fails after 4 retries" message. Then i made her switch to Kalt server and same thing is happening when i tried to join. So while she was playing Kalt, i tried Avalanche on my end and it works great.

Hope there's a fix for that, we really want to play together on the same team.

I did look into that in the beginnnig. But we played on non EGO servers together without problems. It seems only EGO server is blocking same IP connections.

- What Anti-Virus Software do you use?

Windows 7 64 bit on mine. Windows 7 32 bit on hers.
No antivirus on both computers. Only spybot installed on both.

One other solution I forgot about - several members were actually having a similar issue. The fix they used was adding this to the games' launch options:

+clientport 27015

(Or change 27015 to 27016 if that doesn't work)


If you're not sure how to do this:

• go to your Steam Library -
• right-click the game -
• click Properties -
• click 'Set Launch Options' ; If you have something in your launch options already, just add a space in between it and the new command

DMZ is out of the question, its too dangerous out there. We played all evening together on different servers. Only EGO servers refuse to let us play together. So its probably some security settings on your servers end, like an anti-cheat or something.
