This is simply to ask the community if you would all be interested in a TTT server or event (future tense of course.) Below is a general overview of what TTT is, so please feel free to read. This can be done for CS:GO and there are a handful or 2 of these servers that are active quite a lot.

What is Trouble in Terrorist Town (TTT)?
Trouble in Terrorist Town is a psychological action game mode where players are divided into three different groups. The groups are Innocent, Detective and Traitor.

Traitors
A traitor is shown as an Innocent to everyone, except for other traitors. Traitors must use the element of surprise, deception and their special equipment to eliminate all the innocents and detectives without getting caught and killed.

Detectives
A detective is a proven innocent who has access to special equipment to find out who the traitors are. Detectives are a great asset to the process of elimination, which makes them a high-profile target.

Innocents
An innocent is suspected as a traitor until they have proven themselves to other innocents and detectives. Innocents have to survive and use the process of elimination to figure out who the Traitors are, and kill them.

We already have 3 "specialty" maps. Jail, 1v1 and zombie. We should be doing a comp style map especially now when the summer vacation is on. We might be able to recruit more players.

I wouldn't want to do TTT. We have a gmod division that already has a successful TTT server implemented. Why not do something original? An event would be killer, but to attempt a dedicated server to that game style is silly. Just like having dead CS:GO servers and bringing up more dead CS:GO servers.

This is most likely going to get deleted because my opinion varies, but it's honest food for thought.

Quoted, can't be deleted. Yolo.

Serious though It could work as an event and not as another server focus on the ones we have or we will just keep having dead server after dead server.

Let's try to keep this on topic. I'm a little disappointed that within three hours we are already filling this thread with negativity. Not everybody has gmod or is determined to play gmod, so I don't get why that is even being brought up. If you say the gmod server is so successful, then why not have something that is doing well in a different division leak over to another. People who play CS:GO may not have gmod and vice versa. It's a great way to expand the TTT experience to everyone.

Anyway, this is a thread to discussion your thoughts on TTT as an event or possibly stand alone server. We should respect everyone's opinions. Maybe the reason, and this is just some food for thought, we do not have more posts like this is because people are scared of others being rude when they are just trying to get some community feedback. In leadership, we cannot read minds, despite what people may think, so we really appreciate these types of threads because they give us a sense of what the community thinks, but let's keep it civil. It was a simple yes or no question.

"Yes, I would like to attend a TTT event or server because I do not have gmod but have heard great things about it."

Or possibly "No, those types of servers do not really interest me, but I am curious to see how it turns out!"

Perhaps "Maybe. You have peaked my interest and I will do some more research on my end or ask a question here to get a better understanding of TTT."

As for me, I never even knew TTT was an option on CS:GO until reading this and I looked into this a bit and think it could be really cool. I myself do not play gmod so being able to experience that could be a neat experience. Thanks for the information soul!

I would be interested to see TTT as an event because I used to play that mode all the time in Gmod. However, I think it is not for the best at the moment to get a TTT server both because we have enough cs:go servers at the moment and also that I'd prefer not to have to compete with the Gmod Division and their TTT server.

To be fair to most of the people commenting they did state why their opinion is what it was, however maybe people in the CS Division can change their mind and want it as a server after having an event or two of it and seeing how popular it can be, seeing how well it will work within eGO and if it does then that's great for everyone. If this was to become a server I would guess it would replace another CSGO current server otherwise my opinion would be that we would have too many servers and too little people to enjoy all of them if you're looking for ranks in the servers still. If not then it would be great to have as many servers as possible so everyone can play what they wish to an extent.

To make my reply the simple yes or no answer due to the facts I have seen and the information we have been given along with the current state of other servers we have also, that it hasn't been tested yet at least on a large scale within eGO it would be No for a server right now but Yes for an event that could grow into a server over time if it attracts enough people.

Yes we have a TTT server in GMod I am aware of that. However even though I have Gmod in my library I refuse to play the game simply because I do not enjoy it. I don't enjoy the mechanics of it or the gameplay in almost any way (thank goodness someone gifted it to me) That being said, that is one reason I do not play on our Gmod servers because I do not enjoy the game,

I do however enjoy CS:GO and almost all the other games that we support. Seeing as how CS:GO has a script/mod for TTT and only a handful of servers that support it and for the most part they are constantly full of people who supports said servers I believe it is a good idea to test it out as an EVENT at the least. Perhaps if it is successful it can be made into a server, that is not up to me though as it is a leadership decision as I am sure you are all aware.

As Mega also stated some people may not have Gmod or intentions to play it so this may be something that they can play that is successful in one division that can flow over into another. Others may not even know what TTT is or that it is in CS:GO.

It's an opportunity to test something out that we as the CS division have never tried before, a fresh idea since I don't believe no one has ever brought this up before unlike ideas of a rotation server, comp server, etc.

This is why I suggest an event to test the waters HENCE the title of the thread name. There is no need to be negative and saying things like "oh we have that on Gmod why suggest that?" at least give some positive feedback as to why it would be a bad idea other than just saying we already have a Gmod one since not everyone owns or likes that game. Don't just say nah because we have one end of story.

you asked me why I'm in the gmod division when I disagree with the idea

then you went on explaining why it doesn't matter that we have a gmod ttt server

?????????

is this a poll about the server being added or an announcement, honestly

Maybe we are not ready to have civil discussions at this time. I'm going to lock this thread. Thank you for those who were trying to contribute. CS Leadership will work with those individuals and see if we can brainstorm some ideas.
