Welcome to the Admin Scenarios this will help for current and future admins! One a month there will be new scenarios up for you all to consider. Hopefully this will give you the chance to think about the scenarios and what actions you would need to take as an Admin and future e,eG,eGO Admins, without the stress of needing an immediate decision in game. That way, if or when you encounter the same scenario in game, you'll already have a good idea of what needs to be done without having to wonder if you're actions are correct or not.

At the end of The Month depending on when it was posted, we will post the correct answer for everyone to see, followed shortly by new questions in a different thread.​

1.What do you do when a known hacker by the names of nurewearth, Io0Io0IIoo, AA_name_AA come into the server?
eGO ban them on sight eG kick and place a ban request e get an O with ban or kick rights.They are known hackers they come to our servers everyday.

2.Is it allowed for commanders to drop crates on enemy soldiers? When is it considered griefing?
Commander are allowed to drop crates on enemy soldiers as long its not getting droped purposely on team mates then it would be considered as griefing

3.a)If someone launches a vehicle with soldiers is that considered exploiting? b) Is this something we as community/admins want to promote on our servers?

4.You see someone using a RAWR DLC pickup weapon on Standard Maps what action do you take?
Take a screenshot Ban On sight for hacking

5.How do you handle this admin scenario? Player A throws explosives into uncaps, receives a warning from admin and does it AGAIN gets kicked for uncaps violation then player A decides to return in spectator mode and posts this "

1. If the account is connected to a known cheater, kick/ban and post a ban request.

2. While not a good strategy, if you miss you're just resupplying the enemy, I don't see why commanders shouldn't be allowed to drop crates on enemies. It's griefing if they show clear (repeated) intent to drop crates on their own team to TK them.

3. Launching vehicles has been in Battlefield for a long time. I'm certain if the developers wished to prevent it, they could. In my mind at least, it's less of an exploit and more of an unofficially supported game mechanic. That said, it's not something we want to promote as it can cause great disruption to the server and gameplay.

4. I'm not aware of any exploits that allow the RAWR to be used on vanilla maps, but if there is then W/K/B for exploiting a bug. If not, kick or ban for server disruption and post a ban request for cheating. If you don't see them actively using it, just on the battle report, then it's likely just a Battlelog bug.

5. In this instance, it's seems extremely unlikely that a warning would have any effect. However, unless instructed otherwise, I believe this is a W/K/B situation.
 
1. It is fine so long as they follow the rules and do not disrupt the server. However when someone with a name like AA_name_AA shows up, I normally figure hacker within 1 second (I think my first few ban requests for a guy with that kind of name.)

2. Yes it is allowed. While it does not support their team in any way, it is really funny and frustrating (DarkRaven I'm looking at you). It becomes griefing when the commander repeatedly and intentionally drops it on friendly players.

3. No it is not considered exploiting as the vehicle usually dies. But it is considered team griefing and this should not be promoted in anyway shape or form by admin (unless you're dorking around an empty server)

4. If I see the RAWR on a Vanilla map I'm pretty sure that is 100% and exploit or hack, resulting in removal from server and ban request.

5. Considering I've been on the receiving end of that rage, this means (1) Player has already been warned. (2) Player has already been kicked. (3) Player is being disrespectful. (4) Ban request after kicking player for server disruption and disrespect. Warned > Kicked > Banned

If I have made any errors in my judgement feel free to correct me, I've made mistakes in the past and I strive to improve.
 
1. As long as I am sure it is a known hacker and I confirm it, I myself, as an O will do a tban and then put in a ban request.

2. As far as I know, yes it is allowed to be dropped on enemy players (I mean, one of the DLs does it, why not? :P (RAVEN)). If it is dropped on teammates or their team's things then it becomes griefing.

3.a) I don't see that being a exploiting issue as more as a griefing issue but it would only be a problem if it is at their own teammates. b) As long as it isn't at another teammate, I thing it is funny and shouldn't be frowned upon.

4. K/TB situation and ban request. Spectator or not, it is a sketchy situation and the player should receive appropriate punishments if they are indeed hacking/exploiting the game.

5. W/K/B if the player has been kicked and comes back to do this, I would give a tban for admin/player disrespect with a ban request following that.
 
1. I will observe for a very short time, and if necessary kick for server disruption. However, on the forum side of this I will be posting a ban request for leadership to look at.
2. This is within the rules, and it only becomes griefing when either the cmdr kills an enemy with a crate in uncaps, or kills his own team. (personally I believe it should be team griefing since he is supplying the enemy)
3 I don't have a problem with vehicle launching as long as it does not disrupt the server, however, I will kick for team griefing if its done to unwilling subjects. And as for promoting it on our servers? I am not sure if I would, not sure if I wouldn't. I would have to know more about how people are using this.
4. I would warn/kick/ban. This is obviously exloiting if not outright hacking, and a ban request would very soon follow the kick.
5. Find an O to ban this potty mouth immediately, grab his chat logs and unique player id and ban request. A warn and kick have been issued prior to my involvement, which means I'm going straight to a ban request.
 
1. as eG i would have to get a higher rank member to ban anyone. perm not temp. if i had rights i would ban them on the spot.

2.if commander does it to friendlies then yes its griefing. 1 time does not count cause accidents happen to campers. dropping crates on enemies is ok.

3. no. launching vehicles take away from team effort and should be considered ok. playing a game is all about fun and launching vehicles is hilarious.

4. ban, ban request and report suspicious activity to proper channels.

5. its warn kick ban. we don't need that kind of behavior on the severs so nobody will miss him. if they come into team speak then ban off team speak as well if language continues.

PERM BANNED ONCE I KNOW ITS THEM FOR SURE!

Yes they can drop on ENEMY soldiers. Its grefing when they drop it on allys

Warn/Kick/Ban We do not allow this its exploiting. As eGO members we should not be doing this unless we are on event server messing around. Do not do this on a live server.

Take a Pic of kill feed then perm ban
 
Can someone please tell me how to take a screen shot of whats going on. I also would like to know where I find the screen shots once taken. I have had some issues going on in game that I would love to have proof of to submit my reasoning behind action taken if needed. Thank you :) sorry I know this isn't an admin scenario. I just really need to know this to avoid a complication if one happens that is. :)

You can use various screen capture services or devices to take screen shots. My prefered item is my Avermedia LGP, but when its not hooked up, I use MSI Afterburner or Shadowplay.

Yes there is. Just push PRT/SCR ( print screen ). Then open up your accessories and open Paint. Then on the paint screen push CTRL and the key V and it will post the screen shot there. Then you can edit and crop it to your likings. :) Hope this helps.

In the context of this scenario, ban and submit a ban request. Additionally, I would certainly do my research to ensure that there is information on this person that supports such a ban.

2.Is it allowed for commanders to drop crates on enemy soldiers? When is it considered griefing? I guess if the crate will kill them, then it is intended to do so as part of the game. I wold consider it griefing if the crate is used against the the commanders own team, but it would need to be something that was intentional, meaning it was something they couldn't avoid or if they did it multiple times. I would warn the commander - if repeated, kick him/her.

3.a)If someone launches a vehicle with soldiers is that considered exploiting? b) Is this something we as community/admins want to promote on our servers?
a.) Not on a repeated basis., one time let it go and play on, but if they continue it, W/K as necessary. b.) I would think it is not something to promote, the game mode is what should be played, unless stated otherwise. eg. "Special events server"

Well unlike using glitches that allow you access to areas of the maps that were not intended as "open to everyone", this sounds like someone who truly does not want to play by the rules. As I have not personally ever seen this type of exploit, I would check with other admins and see what the consensus is on this individuals rather unique gameplay methods! Most likely this player will find his or herself getting a tban at the very least! Then a ban request submitted for further review purposes of course. Thank you, have a nice day exploiter.....Bye!

My response, as I have had this happen on numerous occasions would be.
Oh course politely...This person would receive a 1 year ban message would state: You received a 1 year ban for server disruption/admin disrespect- Have a nice day!

Maybe after a year, "maybe" this person will have learned to read the rules that were presented to them and not have such a disrespectful tact towards those that enforce them on EGO servers. If not, then they "might" be able to "find another server" -The End
 
Sounds like a good idea to me. Oh and thanks for the help about taking screen shots. I will test it out, next time in game :)
