Battlefield 4 Talk too much or not enough

So.. I know I'm fairly new to the eGO community..

But as I sit in room 5 of the BF4 TS channel.. i'm finding myself the latter part of my question as some others talk entirely too much.

I didn't post this to point anyone out in particular or to poke fun or anything.. but I do find it difficult to actually obtain my "G" by getting to know others when its hard to get a word in edgewise most of the time in that channel.

I'm not mad or anything.. just an observation. ;)

On a side note.. I need a new video card & RAM. Mine are slowly burning out. If anyone has any extras, let me know!

it can be difficult at times due to random non BF conversations, but it's like a family down there. just jump in!!!
 
i deffinatly feel the same way and share your concern's and i find my self sitting in TS a lot of the times trying to be "active" but like you said its hard to when people just don't know how to tone it down and share the speaking space instead i find that certain people will dominate the room with their voice and other miss out on opportunities to join in and converse.

p.s. a lot of the times i find my self having to excuse myself before i end up telling someone to stfu cuz the talk to much :/ don't want to feel this way any more.

Yep, that is exactly what I end up doing as well.


Also, I don't mind some trash talking here and there.. but there are a few individuals that feel the need to shit-talk everytime they get a kill on me like I have pockets full of gold bullion or something. (mostly the late late night or early morning shifts when i'm usually on)

Killed me? Great! It's most likely I saw the in-game message with your name, I don't need the taunting in TS to back it.

Got 50 kills on me in one game? Fantastic. I'm glad I could help boost your stats. The trash talk isn't needed.

I don't mean to sound like a negative person, but if it continues, i'll tell those individuals to kindly quiet down.

Nah, I don't really have any issues with you at all.

I really only see a very small handful of people nonstop talking about nonBF4 stuff.. but man, when they start.. the whole channel goes down the crapper. lol
 
I can handle room 5 during the work day when it's not too busy, but in the evenings it's just too much for me. I've already asked to have the TS channels named after the servers we have, although we can't do that.
 
I take it you have never worn a comlink during combat?...lol, Well what you do is just jump in there and start yappin like the rest of us..lmao
 
Hopefully none of this comes out wrong, and my apologies if it does, but something which you'll likely find in various TeamSpeak servers or channels is that people tend to talk a-lot, or over each other off and on.

While the latter isn't intentionally meant to be rude, or at-least from what I've seen in the eGO channels, the way I've thought of it is think of it like being in a actual room with other people, such as a lunchroom/cafeteria for example, and everyone is talking about various things.

That being said, keep in mind that although you may or may not say much, just the fact that you're in TS helps get you noticed for a possible promotion. There are a number of things in addition to TS that are taken into consideration for promotions.

It may be tough to focus on the game at first with all the yapping that goes on, but you'll kinda get used to it.... then after a few weeks, you won't want to play without it. :-) It's really nice to be able to kill one of your buddies online, then taunt them over the mic.

I've got a 9 month old sleeping in the room next to me, so i can't talk too much in TS at night, but it's fun when i'm in there.

Youll be fine, this dweeb made it all the way to advisor a long time ago. Best to just speak over them lel. I remember the DoDs division people all got along and spoke over each other haha yet they got ro know you. Dont be affraid to speak up.

We are lucky to have the most packed rooms on ts in Battlefield. Every night our rooms are packed with 30 plus people and its a sight to see.

Lets respect each other and let one person finish talking before jumping in. The unspoken rule is have fun but dont talk too much and spam. Its a fine balance but its best to tone it down when you feel you are the only one talking.
 
Oh come on, you don't want people saying hi to you 15 times every game just because they killed you? But when you kill them 5 or 6 times and say hi they get all shitty and say OK OK I know it was you. That's not fun? Damn, I thought I was just anti social.
 
Another option is to use another TS BF room with like-minded members. You could ask your squadmates to join you there.

I'll just learn to speak up if I wanna say something.

I didn't take it that way Majeye. I sometimes take my gameplay to another TS room if I want to strategize better with my squadmates. Room 5 is for fun chatter in my opinion.
 
No need to worry about it, room five is a anything goes type of thing .Even i get quiet in there because of all the chatter but it can be very entertaining at times and its also a good way to get to know the attitude of some of the folks. Ive gone off to the other rooms with other people when we are in a squad getting serious. Think of room 5 has the neighborhood bar and you will be just fine lol.
