Servers moving back to Dallas!!

The big announcement at todays eGO community clan wide meeting that all the servers are moving back to Dallas, TX to EO Reality game servers, eGO's new sponsorship (http://eoreality.net/).
That is why the forums were down this week as they were moving the forums first.

The details of when the servers will move were not provided as JohnT was not there. But, all games servers will be moved, so you see your ping change, you know the server has moved.

They were in Tampa Florida, but the DODS servers were moved to the new box in Dallas, Texas just within the past few hours (partially including around the time you made your post)

Bad Ping

Hey guys, I used to have really good ping on your server, around 50 or 60.
Since the move to Dallas, my ping is around 350-400!
This is such a major jump. Is there anything I can do to get better ping? Settings or anything? I love your Avalanche server, it's the only one I play when I play DoD:S. Please help. Thanks.

A few questions:

-Where are you located?

-Have you done a traceroute?

--If Yes, does it timeout anywhere? Which point/number?

--If you haven't done a traceroute, open command prompt and type tracert SERVERIP (Example, if you were to run a traceroute to our Avalanche server, you would type the following, without the quotes: "tracert 45.35.93.165"

with such a huge jump up to 350-400, that suspiciously sounds like a steam thing.. by any chance, was that on a Tuesday? Or any other games updating or something?

Even with a full server it shouldn't use much bandwidth server side. If its a Tuesday, steam is often doing maintenance. Otherwise we will need to explore options on your end
