Hey folks
So I want to gut my current/old rig, take what parts I can salvage and still use from it, and put the $900-$1000-ish I've saved up towards a sort of 'future-proofed' rig. I wanted to know how this looks and if I'm really getting the most out of my money
I'm still kind of on the fence on if I want to go 'all the way' and shell out a little extra for an i7-6700K or not, but to be completely honest, I don't know if I need it I do a fair bit of livestreaming for fun, but not much recording or video editing -- for the mostpart I just want a bada** rig that will run games and look pretty and will last me for the next few years -- as you can probably tell from my signature, my rig has some fairly old components in need of replacement
i've also never utilized an M.2 SSD before, let alone as my OS drive. Is there anything I need to know about them or are they pretty much plug-and-play? Yes, my choice motherboard will support M.2
Parts I intend to replace from the old build/add into the new build:
