I was just approved to join EdgeGamers and would love to add my tag to my user name. I have no idea how to do that. Yes ... I know. If anyone could help ... that would be great.

If you're referring to your Forum name - we don't use the tag in the forum names aside from the icon below your name/forum avatar. 
As for Steam - When you're logged into Steam, right click the icon on the Windows start-bar and click settings (or if you have the friends list open, click the arrow next to your name and click 'Change Profile Name') - Under Friends tab in settings, click to the left of your name in the textbox and put this:
=(e)=
Then push the OK button on the bottom
EDIT: Alternatively, if you want to you could leave the tag off, then when you join any eGO server and have checked the forums within a week prior to each time you play, it'll auto-add the tag for you

This is probably the most convenient option. If you want to represent eGO all the time on every server on any Steam game, then definitely just add the =(e)= to your name on Steam!
