Ive been having some crazy fps drops during my gameplay lately and nothing has changed. Ive repaired BF multiple times, tried other games and have had a similar effect but on a much lesser scale. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this or maybe its just something within BF itself. plzzz helpsss

Have you checked for new driver releases for video card AND chipset for your motherboard?
Have you installed/updated any substantial or embedded program (besides windows) before this happened?
Have you cleaned out the fan on both your CPU and video card?
Do you notice any audio glitching?

Different games on different engines with different settings affected roughly the same validates an issue affecting more than Battlefield.

Check your temperatures. Your GPU/CPU could be throttling. If they are I'd replace the thermal paste and give all your fans a good cleaning.

I had this happen to me on my old PC and I found out it was thermal throttling. Gutted the sucker and cleaned everything out and reapplied thermal paste everywhere it belonged.

Also as a side note: check your power supply, make sure your gpu/cpu are getting enough power. It or one of the cords could be dying causing the gpu/cpu to starve.

I had the exact same thing. Updated my driver and restarted my pc and it works like new:thumbup1:

Finally got it working after a couple weeks of it happening, apparently 4 years of dust in a fan can cause fps issues O.o . Who would of known!

Thanks for the help and support all is well and fixed now!

Four years? You might want to watch the temps and take immediate note of any unusual noises coming out of your PC for a while. A fan's reduced RPM due to hair/dust/crud/whathaveyou (take note, those that smoke next to their PC) and then cleaned out can easily cut a fan's life down dramatically.

Oh wow, lucky you noticed that fps drops. You could have easily burned out you card -.-
I would suggest maybe cleaning your CPU heat-sink and apply some new thermal paste before you burn that out too.

4 years of dust?! How was your computer able to function?! I never go more than 2 week without dusting my fans (which is really easy with my case) and never a month with out opening my case up and cleaning down everything.

Haha idk either!. i do clean it from time to time but i hesitate to do anything to crazy simply because i have no idea how. but now i know the more specific areas that get dust covered i can change that !
