Tech Help RAM not running in DUAL CHANNEL...

Hey guys,
So I recently found out that my two (2) 4GB corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance DDR3 1600 MHz CL9 XMP sticks have not been running in DUAL CHANNEL mode since I built my PC back in April 2015.

So, as a test, I purchased two brand new RAM sticks of the exact same kind and put them in my PC. MemTests and BIOS fiddling later, CPU-Z still shows the sticks running in single channel.

Just so you guys get a feeling of what the specs are:

SPECS:

- AMD 8350 4 core "8 core logical" 4.4GHz OC Stable
- ASUS Sabretooth 990fx 2.0
- EVGA GTX 970
- 4GB corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance DDR3 1600 MHz CL9 XMP
- Corsair 750W Power Supply
- Windows 10 64 Bit

BIOS version 2901 (latest)

If any other information is needed please just ask and i'll do what I can to supply them.

I just want to get the sticks running in DUAL CHANNEL because it's having an impact on the performance of my games and my work as a university student.
I have tried the following:

- placed the sticks in slots A1-B1
- placed the sticks in slots A2-B2
- Ran DOCP profile in BIOS, channeling speed 1600Mhz @ CAL 9-9-9-24 by default, nothing. For some reason it was being downclocked to 1333Mhz @ CAL 11-11-11-28
- Clean and fresh install of my PC (including OS, BIOS flash and clean HDDs/SSDs)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

So now that you have 4 sticks total, have you tried putting all 4 in and seeing if it is running in dual channel?

All running single channel, but it appears that one of the older sticks may be a dud..

SLOT 2 shows xmp 1.2 when compared to the others, yet shows a rank (channel) of DUAL. But surely the two new sticks in SLOT 1 & 3 would run in DUAL CHANNEL? It's just my mobo is not running the two new sticks in DUAL, it's like it's stuck in single only

check manual on mother board to see what slots give dual mode
if slots a1-b1 don't do it try a1-a2 slots with just 2 sticks
one or the other will do dual mode, 3 sticks will just do single mode
cause for dual mode you need 2 or 4 sticks for dual mode

If you don't mind defaulting your bios, try clearing the CMOS. Maybe there's something configured that you're missing?

BIOS reset - no change.
RAM seated in the following orders: A1-B1 A1-B2 A2-B1 A2-B2 A1-A2 B1-B2 - no change.

Four of the same sticks are now running in the PC and are still in in single channel.

ASUS are stumped and have no idea why this is happening and might RMA the board for me.

I think that might be the last option at this point. If all your memory sticks pass MEMTEST and are good, then it narrows it down to the board, although it's a very peculiar problem and I'm wondering if it's just showing up like that or actually functioning that way

Two independent programs are both telling me the RAM is in single channel. CPU-Z and Speccy. The board could be running it in dual but showing single but it'd be VERY odd for two programs to be showing single.
