For the last three years, community members have come together and in the true holiday spirit of generosity and selflessness have given the gift of gaming to their fellow members, friends, and even complete strangers.
Originally, the DoD:S Division X-Mas Giveaway was a way to give back to all the wonderful members of the Day of Defeat Division. However, every year since the giveaway?s inception, members from every corner of eGO have come together to donate gifts to their fellow gamers. The selflessness of donors from every division in eGO is the only reason the giveaway continues in its fourth year. Thank you all for your generosity during the holiday season.
Without you and your donations, this giveaway would not be possible.

Donating a game for the 2016 DoD:S Division X-Mas Giveaway is one sure way to give back to the community and more importantly; to bring a smile to people who will gratefully enjoy your gift.

Important Changes for 2016:
***Due to a recent change, ALL newly purchased Origin and Steam games with VAC can no longer be stored in your inventory as a gift. For impacted games; when purchasing a game you will need to buy the game and send it directly to the recipient via E-mail, Steam name, or Origin ID during checkout. This does not apply if you purchase a key using Kinguin or G2A.***
This Year we will be accepting Counter Strike: GO crate keys as donations. A maximum of one key will be given per recipient as they are claimed. Please note that there is a 7 day trade delay with all Steam Marketplace purchases and a 15 day hold if you have not used the Steam Mobile Authenticator before. That means early donation and purchase of keys is highly recommended.
During the giveaway, a new system of distributing top-tier and very popular games will be implemented. This will give more people a fair chance at snagging a game they really want. Remember that donating a game lets you claim one or more game, depending on your division.
The schedule for donating and distributing games has been augmented to reflect the speculative date of the Steam Winter Sale (Predicted: [strike]12/23/16[/strike] 12/22/16 to [strike]01/04/17[/strike] 01/02/17).

This is the perfect time and place to give back to the people you play with and also a good time to snag a free X-Mas gift! Any donation will be greatly appreciated and will go directly to members of our community.
Please Note: Any game is accepted. However, there is always a need for newer, popular, and quality games. If you?d like to donate but don?t have a good idea of what game to donate please contact one of the coordinators listed at the end of this post.
The concept is simple: Pledge Steam, Origin, GOG, or Humble Bundle games, or other downloadable PC games for other members to claim.

Donations will start now and will continue until the end of the year when the giveaway ends. However, immediate donations are needed from now until Friday (12/16/16) to create a pool of games that will be available when the giveaway thread is posted on Saturday 12/17/16.
Please note: Donors will receive messages on four dates (12/20/16, 12/23/16, 12/27/16, 01/05/17) to distribute the games they donated.

What We Need:
***If you would like to contribute but don't have any games in mind to purchase or if you'd like to make Christmas extra special for one or more members, please send a message to one of our coordinators.
Note: You do not need to donate a game to claim a game if you are a DoD:S division member. However, any member of eGO from any division may claim a game only if they have donated one.
How to Donate:
To pledge a game simply post in this thread or send a private message to one of our coordinators using the format below.

Who is eligible to receive games?
All DoD:S members can claim a game!!!
- All DoD:S members are eligible to claim any one game.
- Any eGO member from another division is eligible to receive a copy of Day of Defeat: Source (Donations of DoD:S would be greatly appreciated).
- Members not from the DoD:S Division can claim a game if they donate a game.
- DoD:S members who donate more than one game can claim a total of two games with at least one day between claims.
These rules are not set in stone and recommendations and opinions are welcomed.

Please note: This donation thread will remain open alongside the giveaway thread that will be posted on Saturday (12/17/16) until the donation thread is closed on the 01/04/17. Hopefully a good deal of games will be available for members to claim by this point.
Donations will begin now and continue until 01/04/17 when the giveaway closes.
Important Notes
-Donations will continue until 01/04/16, allowing people to buy and donate games as they become available for low prices during the Steam Winter Sale and/or the Humble Bundle.
-Members who donate will be listed alphabetically in a special benefactor section of this and the giveaway thread.
-Steam games and Origin game codes will be the primary platforms for donated games.
-Donated games will be pooled together by online platform (Steam, Origin, other) and listed alphabetically.
-Copies of Day of Defeat: Source can be extra useful as they can be donated to members from other divisions and create more DoD:S players.
-Copies of games supported by other eGO divisions are also appreciated.
-Any games donated should remain in your possession and inventory until they are claimed and then notified by one of our coordinators.
-If games are not claimed they will remain yours and in your possession.
-Extra games not claimed once the giveaway ends remain in your possession. However, they can still be put to use to help the division by offering them to official DoD:S advisors, recruiters, or event coordinators.
Giveaway Information:
The DoD:S Division X-mas Giveaway (when the donated games are given away) is slated to run from Saturday 12/17/16 until 01/04/17.
