Tech Help Cutting the cord - What did you do?

Has anyone here cut the cable cord?

If so, what is your setup?

I subscribe to SlingTV. It's just like Cable or Satellite but a lot cheaper. They have all your normal live channels like History, Cartoon Network, Natgeo, comedy central, bla bla bla, but they also have a VAST amount of VOD on each channel too that you can watch anytime. It's great. I also have Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime, Crunchyroll, and Netflix subscriptions. I have Roku hooked up to my TV that I use to watch my paid subscriptions.

TBH I might of cut the cable cord but I don't think I'm saving any money.

I subscribe to SlingTV, Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. I also have a plex server and a synology.

Plex Server doubles as a streaming rig to the TV in the living room, while I have a seperate machine hooked to the TV in my room.
If I had to make any changes, I'd probably change the one in my room to an Intel NUC style machine and beef up the plex server.

On a side note; do some research into what an antenna might get you. In the Toronto area we can get around 20+ HD channels over antenna, quality is very good. Antenna initial setup may run a few dollars but nothing too over to the top if I recall, been a couple years now.

For 20 dollars a month with SlingTV you get ESPN 1, 2, and 3, I just pay 40 bucks a month and get Fox Sports network as well. If you subscribe to their 20 dollar a month or 40 dollar a month package you get watchespn.com for free. It's badass.

On a side note, Watchespn.com use to come free with my internet but they quit providing it. There's probably still a lot of internet companies that give you Watchespn.com without having a tv subscription.

Roku stick with sling TV, Amazon prime and a plex server for "legally downloaded movies and TV shows" and twitch/YouTube.

It's on twitch 90 percent and then plex the other 10. Sling if I wanna watch ESPN.

Roku also offers a ton of streaming sports apps that stream pretty much anything.

I do SlingTV too, as well as VUDU, Hulu, and Netflix. Streaming via Apple TV in the bedroom, and for the big screen in the Living Room I just did an HDMI cable from my gaming rig and mirrored the main screen since it sits nearby. It's also worth mentioning that NFL Network comes with one of Sling's base packages, and channels like Red Zone, NHL Network, NBA TV, SEC Network, and beINSport are parts of some of the many add-on channel bundles.

If you're looking for more soccer options that aren't included with the channels offered through Sling, there's a decent service for that called FuboTV.

If you're looking for full season packages, your best option is to stream directly from the league like MLB.tv, MLS Live, NFL Sunday Ticket etc.

NFL Sunday Ticket is the only one I can think of that has a restriction of any sort. That one requires a student ID or an address located at an apartment building. I have the latter and it worked like a charm for last season, GameMix and all.
