Okay guys, I wouldn't normally even sign a petition since none of them really happen and solve the issues in my opinion.

However a YouTuber by the name of Barnacles Nerdgasm is a large youtuber and a ex senior Microsoft employee whom created a petition about having a opt out for Windows 10 telementry which i personal hate about windows 10 however i don't think that the operating system is a bad one it's just the privacy issues and the data that is collected which is my main concern.

So set up and sign up my friends and hopefully this petition makes Microsoft have a opt out within the future :)

I watched 40 seconds of the video and he was already wrong about something lol. When I installed 1703 (the creator's update) on my main machine, it reset none of my settings and did not change any of my default apps. When I installed the preview build of it on my laptop weeks ago, it also did not change any of those things.

People have been panicking about the "privacy" in Windows 10 since it came out. You can turn the vast majority of it off. They even introduced more settings to modify it in this update. Do they send telemetry back? Yes. But it's data about how the OS is used, not your baby pictures and bank statements. They don't give a rat's patoot about you or what you do. That would be google and facebook doing that.

I know of a huge tin foil hat sale. Worried about privacy.... Take all of your systems offline because the NSA already knows what you are doing. Microsoft is the least of my worries. I am more worried about data breaches from online retailers than Microsoft and the NSA combined. Definitely not worried about something said in a stupid Youtube video where the creator is more worried about likes and subscribers than the truth of their content

I'm gonna be honest, Microsoft gets tons of petitions daily. They won't even bat an eye. The comments above are quite similar to my thoughts.

Plus its an internet petition which wont do any good and has no legal bearing since it isnt a standard "sign your name here legal aged voter" petition that needs so many signatures to get the judicial branch to step in and do anything. 15000 internet signatures are just a speck compared to the 270 million windows installations.

The only way any change would happen is if the New York times or Wall Street journal were to cover a story about Microsoft collecting sensitive personal data not a YouTuber who has under a million subscribers.
I don't buy his fear mongering propaganda.

Every major retailer whether its Amazon or a "Brick and mortar" type store like Old Navy or Walmart collects some sort of data on purchases. Welcome to the technology age, NOW GET OVER IT!!!!!

and what my favorite kinda guns and explosives are.
and my love for cats/dogs.
and what kinda metal i listen to.
and what games i play.
and who emails me.
and how negative i am in my bank accounts..maybe they could help me with that.
