Ladies and Gentlemen, you asked for it. You wanted it. And if you didn’t,
then you will now. TF2 Leadership is proud to present another KARAOKE NIGHT!
If you’ve never been to a TF2 Karaoke Night before, then you’re in for a treat!
On November 4th at 8:00 CT / 9:00 ET, prepare for an entire evening of singing
your favorite songs with those people you murder in a video game. Oh, and
when we say “entire evening”, we mean it. This event goes on a LONG TIME!
Like, sometimes impressively so.
But Minty, how does it work?
I was just about to get to that!
On Saturday the 4th at 8:00 CT / 9:00 ET, come into Teamspeak and go to the room
labeled “TF2 Karaoke Night!”. Once there, the event works on a queue system.
Message Emmy or Minty to get added to the queue to sing! Also, important note:
If you sing at a karaoke night for the first time, you are given the song of the seahorse
achievement on the forums! Make sure you let Emmy or Minty know if it’s your
first time so we can get you all set up!
Finally, there are a couple simple rules to follow:
1. If someone is singing, you are not to cue your mic under ANY circumstances.
Getting up and singing in front of a lot of people can be very nerve-racking,
and it is our duty as an audience to respect the person singing. Text chat is
perfectly acceptable, but any sort of mic cue will result in a forced global mute.
2. Song choices must be eGO appropriate. We all have very unique tastes
in music, and sometimes songs may include some risque topics (which is totally fine).
However, excessive swearing, offensive rhetoric and racist terminology are not allowed
under any circumstances. Use common sense, and you should be fine.
3. There will be a password, and you should not put it in your name. The point
of a passworded event is to control the flow of any potential spammers and trolls that
may happen to come in. People will be singing, and the last thing we want is any sort
of mic spammer to interrupt. Feel free to give out the password to your friends, but
Emmy and Minty will have “Message for Password” in their Teamspeak names, which
should be sufficient. Password will be: thesingingscooty
4. HAVE FUN! This is one of Team Fortress 2’s favorite events, and for
good reason - this thing is a blast!
So grab your ukuleles and start practicing those money notes - we’ll see you Saturday!
Sincerely,
-Emmy & Minty
