Everyone the has ran drugs know about dirty money, but how in real life would a police officer know if your money is dirty, does he smell each one, are they covered in explosion ink, or are they conterfit bills(the list can go on)? Upon that note and know it is common that officers will take the dirty money as well as any other drugs, but HOW DO THEY KNOW IT IS DIRTY, is the point I'm trying to get off. I suggest either taking all the money (which would cause everyone in the server to rage uncontrollably) or instead of taking the dirty money, add on top of the jail sentence a fine equivalent to the crime, which could also add in reasons to actually have warrants out for people not paying their fine, which could lead into more interesting rp. The third option is to take out dirty money completely and just got to the fines but I don't know this is just my theory on the matter if anyone else has a comment or suggestion feel free the reply.

Also on a side note I know in Texas officers cannot search, your tool box if it is locked, if you where to say you had thing in the tool box of your truck per say would that be illegal if the officer still took them, just hypothetical question, knowing you cannot actually store things in game in a vehicle, but Idk if anyone can humanly hold 200 grams of opium, a machete, a shotgun, carbine rifle, 2 pistols, 80,000 in "dirty" money, 20,000 in "clean" money, 20 moltovs, 10 snowballs, and a fire extinguisher and actually be able to stand

Side, side note, if an officer takes away a cell phone, that officer should give it back as it is a rightful possession of the individual. Even if you where to say it was some sort of illegal cellphone, the police should have theirs taken away because that would mean all cell phones are illegal, making people but cellphone every time they go to jail is kind of... Well for lack of better words... a dick move

The base of the idea of dirty money in my head is that they are counterfeit bills. The only way you get this money by robbing banks and selling drugs. If you don't want it taken, don't do illegal stuff around cops or put it up before doing something crazy.

We don't have the ability to take actual cash from someone as it does not appear in our search. Most of the time when we get dirty money off of people, it is just after a bank or store robbery and it is evidence to who robbed the location.

I don't understand what you mean by instead of taking the dirty money to add a fine. That's like when someone uses an AK47 to gun people down somewhere and cops take him in with the AK as evidence and they give them the rifle back and just fine them for it. I'm also not very aware of a way to track pending invoices besides having Don check the database but I haven't tried finding out a way recently.

I absolutely don't think there is a need to remove dirty money. One of the prime reasons is it allows us to take this money when someone fails a bank robbery. A problem we had before on our old server was that people would rob the bank and get downed and we would have to force them to give us the money. If they didn't they'd face disciplinary actions. Dirty money allows us to take that money from them and catch people doing illegal stuff.

Most people I see making points like this are fustrated because their stuff is taken from them when they are doing illegal stuff. My argument will always be that if you don't want to get caught with a bunch of illegal stuff, don't give the cops a reason to have to stop you. Or if they pull you over, don't immediately take off. It could be that they will issue you a ticket and they will never search you.

Yea, but if it's not humanly possible then people shouldn't carry that much on them would be my counter-argument. However, any time you're arrested, law enforcement is permitted to inventory your vehicle (aka searching it).

In regards to the phone, some cops don't take the phone off of you because of the issue with having to repurchase it. However, I think there is an issue with the jail plugin that it removes all of the stuff from the person. The only issue I see with this is that we are slammed pack with calls at times and may not be able to break to the station. However, I will leave that up to the LSSD command staff on how they want to do that.

Calling counterfeit makes sense but who is selling drugs and trading it for counterfiet dollar bills sense but you counter argument about the ak though how hilarious it sounded.. Its not like people are murdering people with the dirty money lol I feel that metaphor is a bit rediclous for the situation and yes officers are allowed to search you Cecile but you do not have to open you trunk or a toolbox without a warranty kinda why gangsters keep their illegal weapons in their trunk. Basically all I was trying to do is utterly question the realism in the confiscating process of the officers and some reality flaws that I have seen in my past week of dabbling in drug running from which I see. There are no hard call out on the pd I do that in game on Twitter or I'd file a officer complaint if bad enough. Nothing wrong with the current process I just seem unrealist qualities to it... Also just know thought about it how does one clean up counterfeit dollar bills lmao that makes zero sense in a realism aspect also in that case you are saying the money stole from the bank is counterfeit.... so really the bank robbers are helping clean out the bank of this illegal currency

I'm not trying to make illegal jobs easier by any means I'm just calling out reality flaws. Because in reality it is a lot hard for cops than it is for people doing illegal jobs. I mean we have a huge circles of child sex trafficking rings that occurs every hour of every day, millions of dollars of drugs are passed over borders, and that's not even half of it. So I'm not saying make it easier in the server I'm just trying to give a reality check some of the in game things, I love this server and the community it's just always good to throw around opinions every once and a while :)

I have no problem with opinions at all. I just want to give my stand point on things.

Also, trunks can be searched when a vehicle is being inventoried.

Inventoried but not during a searching but you have a point on that matter, th where like I said it is technically impossible to store things in vehicles

Also one more this I find it a bit rediclous that are given standard issued ars higher up maybe but I feel that is something they should have to go back to the station for, shotguns, and pistols okay but what deputy rolls around with a sniper in their trunk at all times you know

Its intimidating to get pulled over for speeding and you see a cop walk out with an ar the low key put it "back" in their car

Some tactical officers (some departments have set SWAT units that patrol) have snipers in the back of their vehicle. Most of the officers who are permitted to have them are those who can carry them in your vehicle. And the majority of officers out there have ARs in their vehicles in the front. and the last post, some times it is accidental because they had it on the most recent call.

Yeah I understand that SWAT should have snipers/ automatic assault rifles but giving the police all standard issued assault rifles is a little much imo. If they are not away they shouldn't carry an automatic assault rifle. I know the city is dangerous sometimes but come on... That's a bit much don't you think. Most people now just carry around legal firearms. Not fair when you have a pistol drawn and a cop pulls out a full decked out killing machine that can pump 30 rounds in 3 secs

It would be nice if the money system could change. If you rob a bank that money would be real hard to spend.
Drug money on the otherhand is so clean, it is just normal everyday small bills.
Money from drugs should just be regular cash, even if the payout has to shrink.
Bank money goes to Marked Bills and has to be laundered.
Now perhaps then I would be ok with the police taking any cash you have on you if you are caught with drugs.
