make there be a worse punishment than just a swap for freekill in jailbreak (CT Bans)

seriously at this point ct's are beyond incredibly toxic to the point where freekills happen all the time and all that happens is a swap(which only doesn't let you be on ct team for 15 MINUTES)

a temporary ct ban(not as long as a mfk, maybe like 3 hours?) would heavily discourage being toxic and generally worsening the mood of all players

+1 concept. In addition, we should also push their priority back by a certain amount of time (maybe 3hrs too).

Agreed. I think we should bring back CT bans, personally. The CT Ban system was great because it let us ban players from the CT team for days or weeks or even permanently when they were awful or toxic guards but they were perfectly pleasant people to deal with on the T team.

I agree with what thorgot said, bringing back ct bans and making the punishment for a freekill longer for just the ct ban(admin discretion) will prevent freekills from being so common. However if ct bans come back i still feel like bans like mfk should be a 2 week server ban, even with ban evaders more common now, i feel like the stack sprays are way less common since players actually want to play on the server.

Well i agree people are so toxic and its the worse i have ever seeing on one server, i think we should get ct ban back again

why did they get rid of CTbans? not sure if maul has an issue with it or what ever, but ctbans are a must in my eyes. So when ever Maul gets an update then maybe they will bring it back? :D or if it isnt maul, then the line, if it aint broke dont fix it, works. :thumbup1:

I forget the exact reasoning on why they removed ct banning all together, believe it had something to do with MAUL. But I do highly believe it should be brought back, was extremely useful and helped keep CT's in line more so when it came to the rules as a Guard.

We all hate that CT bans are gone D:

+1 though. Heck toxic CTs

I think server bans serve as a larger deterrent, and there is no need to bring back ct bans. CTs get a 15 minute ct ban when they are swapped already and people who are “repeat offenders” get server bans. Which in my eyes makes bringing back ct bans rather pointless.

Yes! You accidently freekill, pfft who cares ur getting a 3 hour ct ban. I can't wait for the amount of ct's on jb.

But on a serious note i dont think it should get added, ppl will get a 3 hour ct ban and nobody will be able to play on ct, ppl who rebel will just have an easier job lol, + for new people who are just learning to ct they're going to be discouraged to play ct and become a good warden or whatever cuz one mistake and u have a 3 hour ct ban. Also people will just evade the ct ban, you can just retry and its gone, also each map is 45 min, after each map the ct ban goes away. and the ct bans that u can't evade like they were with pg, they're not going to be here untill the new maul is implemented which im preety sure tech team is working on

For the people who get swapped then instantly free kill the next time they are ct, they should probably have a small ban but I don't know how this would be implemented in a way where actually good ct's that just want to play accidentally free killed someone. I would agree if there was some policy with amount of swaps in the last week or something but I still don't know about banning people just for free kill.

I feel like this would drastically alter the balance between Ts and CTs when an accidental freekill is made. Honestly I haven't seen a huge issue with the current system. Maybe we can find a balance by making a difference between accidental freekill and freekill. That might make it easier to balance.

-1, Freekills happen, every admin who has more than 2 days as CT has probably freekilled at least once. Constant freekilling should be reported but don't know how much that would help if you can come on with a different account and keep playing

At the moment swaps or revokes are exactly what we need. They serve as a warning and punishment in the sense that people learn what they did wrong, have a punishment, and then they will be less likely to do what ever they did wrong again, or be more careful. When a player is swapped and has to wait the 15 minutes, whether it be from playing T games, out of sight, or something else, you hardly ever see them doing it again. If we were to add additional punishments to people for freekilling, being out of sight, etc, people will be less likely to learn from a mistake and keep playing, and more likely to leave the server and not come back. If a player is consistently becoming a problem, repeat freekills, etc. Feel free to make a report for them here: https://www.edge-gamers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?1233-Request-Ban as well as report them in admin chat, we have procedure for repeat freekills/rule breaking. Keep in mind that mistakes happen and everyone is playing for fun.

if the ct ban wasn't removed this thread wouldn't have existed

I think we should just bring back ctbanning tbh.

Just for reference/history: CT bans went away because it was a plugin designed for PG's site and was lost with the site when it went offline without any notice. I believe at one point there was talk of looking to implement it in MAUL 3, but tech/CS leadership would need to update the current info on that.

We couldn't just flip a temporary version over to the site either or anything - tech was overloaded at the time and so CS leadership went with the current rules to compensate for the inability to add this feature back anytime soon.

Don't actually have any opinion in this topic since I don't play CS, but wanted to make the reasoning why it was gone in the first place clear.

We really do need CT bans back, a simple nade accidentally being clicked into stack might be the reason you can't play for 2 weeks.

CT Bans weren't removed per say, CT Bans could no longer be placed because Abdul switched off the site without alerting any of us of it being shut down. Therefore the database that held the CT Bans could no longer be accessed. There are talks of bringing back CT Bans, have no fear (along with some other nice features with the new MAUL).

tl;dr: CT Bans are gone because the other site was shut down without anyone knowing. They will show their face again.

Is there a expected timeframe we can hope for this if no other major issues pop up or do we just have to wait?
