Dealerships should provide deals

As of this current moment, it has become blatantly obvious that the dealerships do not actually offer deals on vehicles. We currently have 2 dealerships, one is the automated interactive dealer with a set of vehicles you can buy, the other is the roleplay dealership where you can order your vehicle with a real person.

However, currently the real person dealers do not allow haggling in any way, shape or form. This basically defeats the purpose in the existence of player dealers in the first place. If your not there to work out a compromise deal with the customer, you are basically nothing more than a glorified automated interaction system that wears a suit.

If you don't want to lower the prices, jack them up and allow for there to be room for the customer to haggle the price. I don't see a reason for dealers to exist otherwise.

The idea of the dealership is for brand new vehicles, (addons and GTA super cars) not used ones. The vehicles "are coming directly from the manufacturers" with a set price and dealerships follows something called "map - minimum advertised price" that they cannot go below. Also IRL dealership up-sales the cars by, in some cases even up to 70% than what the manufacturer set the price of a vehicle at. So I already go to lowest the cars are sold IRL to give more people the change of owning them as not everyone has enough free time to spend 8 hours a day on the server grinding for money.

If this was a dealership with used cars with miles on them, possibly some cosmetics damage etc then I would understand negotiations could take place if someone does not feel confident paying a certain amount of money for a used, possibly in bad condition car.

Also the reason for making most cars time limited is to make them exclusive pieces, that not everyone has access to and to let people RP trading them privately. Those cars are used, which open up the negotiations for a certain price within RP.

I feel like your missing the point. There exists no reason for a player to play a dealer if there is no haggling process. Like I said, you should be raising the prices and in turn opening the opportunity for the customer to haggle you down to that MAP number or close to it. At the moment, there is no difference between one of the dealer players and that little blue circle we all buy from other than that he talks. I don't know about you but that sounds like a super boring job that only exists to give dealers and the owner free money for minimal effort RP-wise. If there is no haggling process, there is no need for player dealers to exist.

Completely agree. Personally I don't see the point for the dealership if there's no RP anyway. Bravis pretty much said it. I'd rather go buy these at a blue circle rather than wait for a dealer if the only difference is 1, he talks, and 2, I get a test drive. If we could haggle, it'd make things a lot more interesting car-buying wise, and would add to the RP.

I do understand the point.

However making car prices higher for the solely reason to sell the car for the original price would get repetitive and boring real quick. Like I mentioned, its a dealership with new cars and set prices already at MAP to give everyone equal chance of being able to own a vehicle. If they don't buy it within the limited time, they'll have to buy it from a person trying to negotiate a price the seller will like.

Myself and my guys at the dealership like to RP, and I do enjoy RP with effort very much. ( If I enjoy a scene I usually thank the people involved straight after that scene ) That being said there is a lot of RP you can have with dealers. If you want to but a specific car, you can RP as someone unsure of a specific car and ask for test drives in different cars just to add depth to the characters decision. Ask questions, RP with /MEs playing with buttons while checking the interior out etc, and add some backstory to why this car, what you going to do with it, talk about stuff outside of buying car context. There's so many possibilities for RP.

While we try to make as much stuff IRL as possible there has to be balance to ensure everyone's enjoyment from RP scenes. If we make stuff too obvious to RP, like introducing variable pricing so people can "haggle" to get cheaper price, that is all we will RP every time we'll have someone come in to a buy a car.

Allowing people to think outside the box will generate more interesting, various natural RP rather than the same scripted-like scenes being repeated with every single customer.

Well I'm gonna go ahead and 100% disagree with you, because I've spoken to your dealers and they do find it ridiculous that there is no haggling process. A blue circle can just as easily offer limited time only vehicles.

The customers want a real dealer experience. Every person I've spoken has mentioned that there is no opportunity to haggle and that there was no real point in talking to the dealer in the first place.

Here is an idea. Make it 10k more than what it is said then make haggling an option to those. :o Win Win

I mean that's really all anyone's asking for lol Raise the prices, let people haggle it. The worst possible thing that happens is you get MORE money out of it because they didn't haggle enough :P

I have to agree with remas here, people will know that the prices have been changed and they know they will have to haggle to get it down. So the people come in haggle and leave with the same prices everytime anyway, by doing that you will create effortless rp scenario's. And on another note, people have been complaining about having to grind and upping by 10k only wont really be a haggle since everyone will know about it. So you will have to up atleast about 40k or around there but then you gotta grind more which people generally dont want. Besides there enough rp at the dealership if you think not, youre doing something wrong. Like Remas pointed out theres many things you can do for EX; /me plays with button, listens to radio sound, looks for sterios OR Ask the dealer about the features the engined trunk space, anything. Theres no need to force roleplay at the dealership right now.

It wouldn't be forced RP if they decided to change the price to a vehicle to 40k instead of 30k. It's business. If they decide they want to haggle, then the dealership could go down on the price if chosen or keep it at that. Depends on the RP scenario I suppose.

I agree and disagree with a few things here, I agree with Remas097 Remas097 . The way the Dealership is currently ran has potential to provide some pretty good RP if both parties contribute enough to the scene, this can be achieved by using /me and asking general questions to the employee at the Dealership.

Although, I would love to see what Summer Summer suggested be implemented, as she said it's a win, win. I don't see it as "forced rp", all this suggestion does is give people more RP opportunities when it comes to buying from the Dealership. If they want to try and haggle the price down, then they would now have that option to do so.

What if they just decide not to haggle so they can pocket the extra 10k HMMM?!

That was my other concern, with the "MONEY IS EVERYTHING" mentality that a lot of players have.

Also if the dealer does not go down in price then everyone will flip why they now have to pay more for a car than what the actual price is supposed to be. On the other hand, if dealer guys are on a good day they will always go down to that MAP price anyways (which is what will happen most of the time anyways) so the haggle RP will just get super boring as it will happen with every customer as no one wants to spend more money than they have to.

Any idea I have, I spend a lot of time to look at it from different perspectives to try and balance the gameplay out for everyone. Like I always say. I really don't care about money. So the idea of making more money from people not haggling, IF I do increase the price doesn't even excite me. I will use the money dealership earns to give back to the Civs in different RP scenarios anyways. For example by donating cars as rewards for different events hosted by LSTA, Fire, R&R Racing etc, Or even going around letting people guess a number and give them some money if they get it right. I'm all for good and full of effort RP scenes.

So by making a decision that will influence the way people RP to be scripted-like is not something that I'm excited about.

idk about yall but i brought my camaro from 25k to 16k not snitching tho

I personally think that it should be given a trial run. I can see both sides of this and where both people are coming from. People want more chances to RP with dealership, not saying that there arent already everyone who mentioned some above thats just a small portion theres much more but limiting a pretty big factor that some people would enjoy might not be the best option. But also on the other side everyone will probably Haggle down to the retail price anyway which could result in tedious RP. A trial run should truly test how this mechanic would run and see how it affects everyone if the Dealer is a really good negotiater and both are truly engaged it could actually be fun.
