TL;DR. Steam and Origin players will be one again. Battlefield 5 will be on steam Q1 2020 with all future EA games moving forward.

I get why they aren't allowing this, but it would have been nice to transfer games.

Nice. Too bad you can’t transfer but it’s welcoming. I am very tired of the various launchers at this point so glad to bring things back under one umbrella. I think the only origin title I had was Battlefield 4 so no real effect on me for games I already own.

In this case it doesn't matter. All EA games will be run through Origin anyways, like how Ubisoft games go through Uplay.

Essentially you will link your steam and Origin and any games you have should be on both.

Oh, so I can just continue not buying their games then. I avoid Ubisoft like the plague because Uplay wouldn't even run for ages for me. Incredibly frustrating experience.

I think the key word is dedicated servers, because we might get private ones that are more like sandbox type of environments than dedicated servers.
