Battlefield V Finally!!!! Private Servers....

Just a quick google and I don?t see anything that comes up quickly with more details since this article came out. Real shame. Hopefully it does happen.

Does anyone here play BF5? Have you seen a menu option for renting a server?

BF1 had the option but we could never get a server filled even though we paid for several months.

Welp, back to playing BF4 all the time.

BF4 for me as well until these games make server renting the way it used to be. I'm not holding my breath.

Artimus Artimus , didn't BF1 have a "rent server" button / link from the beginning but it was grayed out or something similar because it wasn't ready at release?

Also:

EA / DICE: How do we make people come back to the Battlefield Games, especially now for BFV?

Fans, board members, normal people: You could introduce server rental on BFV.

EA / DICE: Of course! They want more cosmetics and battle royal things!

I don't remember when the Rent a Server button appeared.

As I read more about this, this isn't dedicated servers right? This is just an option to create your own little private server to perhaps just have some fun with some friends. No one is going to join this....

I really want to know what EA has to lose to bring back dedicated servers. This is the number 1 thing that people are requesting and not getting. Is it really that costly to maintain or is someone at EA hellbent on making the experience the way they intend it to be?

I wondered why battle royale was introduced, but perhaps they thought if they did this they could entice a younger crowd that likes this type of gameplay. It was a major failure right?

Maybe people don't buy new versions when they can play the old one online? Just spit-balling.

said to be not ranked at start... Noone is going to play private servers if thats the case.

I feel like it would be right up EA / DICE's alley to count on people NOT playing the private servers entirely because the servers are un-ranked. Then, said companies can justify not having the dedicated servers in the future (or even in this game): "Oh, there wasn't enough interest".

Unranked private servers is instant dead content anyways, Would only be used for clans for fun games, Testing, gamenights, or competetitive play.

That's the whole idea. Personally, I think its retaliation from DICE/EA because the RoE were constantly violated with custom scripts, weapon limitations, and the constant fly-by-night servers run by badmins. It stopped with BF4.

Might be true, But it is also the main reason why people play the game.
If they are not ranked many people leave, If they are ranked many people will come back, and many people will buy the game.
They will only bite them in the end.
