32gb of ram is completely overkill in this build, not to mention it adds another 60$ on. Plus mATX motherboards have 4 memory slots, so he can add more in the future in case he decides he needs 120 chrome tabs open in the background.

Sure, if he wants to build his computer at about this time next year to save a couple bucks. But the price drop will take a long time and it won't be by a noticeable amount.

For example, something like this is using the last gen platform and it's pretty good budget wise. You'd get a much better graphics card for the same price point, not to mention a PSU too haha

It is worth noting that this is a mini ATX build, so it is quite small. You should do some research into different cases from Bequiet, coolermaster, nzxt, fractal, and the whole lot to see who's cases you like the most and want to build in. Also if you want a big build or not.

Also for the building aspect, it's basically just a giant lego. The hardest part is getting the cables around the computer, don't worry about it.

I first of all will say If your trying to stay at 700-800 DO NOT by a pre-build.My gtx 1050 prebuild is 1200, I could of probably got it for 900$ if I built it my self. if you want the most out of your money for a prebuilt, go for letsbld. otherwise build your own for a little less, letsbld costs about 200$ extra, they add windows for 100$, which you can buy off eBay for 2$, sometimes. and the 100$ building fees
 
Recommendation. Sell the current PC you own once you are dead set on building a new one so you get some money on top. Make sure you get a build that will be suffice in the near future, as many new demanding titles are sure to be released.
 
or just be like me, buy a HP ProDesk 600 G1 SFF and slap a low profile 1650 in that bad boy for 250 dollars

Or don’t be a pepega and buy a regular formfactor prodesk or optiplex instead of an sff which is about the same price ezpz
 
oh craigslist then yes it probably was. shipping on sffs is better too. I have one that I got shipped on ebay for 35$ it’s a pog

what if you want to keep some of the stuff on the old computer, ex: important files, game configs, etc.
 
no stop just put it on an external harddrive

Didn't even consider that, ^^ Google drive, Another Hard drive too. I just think If he were to sell the PC he's using it may allow him to be more flexible with what he'd like for the PC.
 
Just wanted to add to Meyers earlier comment about RAM. I built my PC as a photo/video editing and gaming PC. I currently have 16GB (2x8GB) and am looking to upgrade to 32GB. Having 32GB in this build is definitely overkill as the cost/performance trade-off isn't worth it. I'm assuming you suggested 32GB is because he does some photo and video editing; I haven't had a major issue with Adobe apps except when I'm curating over 1,000 photos at once, and even then, 32GB wouldn't have made it go much faster to be of any significance.
 
snowy where u live bc it depends what shipping is like and shit for example i live in iceland and shipping is very high and import taxes are stupid expensive
 
also they legit just announced rtx 3000 series like yesturday so i would probably wait a bit like a week or smthn for when they drop it bc then 2000 series and 1000 series will be alot cheaper just saying
 
idk if its worth it for him since hes doing budget build and wont be playing rtx games haha
