Here is the thing-
99% of the time the vents are already open. I don't know why people keep thinking this, but I shall say it for the people in the back to hear-
IF A VENT IS OPEN, STARING AT IT WHILE T'S ARE IN THE VICINITY/WAITING TO PURSUE IT WHEN VENTS ARE OPEN IS NOT CAMPING.
"But crazy.... yes it is!!! They look at it for a long time and that's camping it so I can't go to it!!!"
No. It's not. Let's check the rules.
As a guard, you must NOT ...
- Damage vents or go into them unless you hear/see/suspect a prisoner has gone through (do not camp vents).
Hmm... Well, what does that mean? That means you can't pursue the vents unless you hear/see/suspect someone has gone through. The vent being open, and the cell being empty
alone is enough to count as suspecting that someone has gone through.
So let's say we've established sus. That means we can go into the vents. That means we can
pursue the vents and damage them if needed.
This is the
ONLY section where vents and camping are used in the same sentence in the rules. Since the rule of "damage vents" goes away once sus is established, then the "Do not camp" section goes away too as long as the sus exists. Once that goes away, the rule of "Do Not Camp" is re-established.
blocking the way and it doesn't allow any T's to get into vents as they get killed the second they drop down.
I'm sorry... but what do you mean here? I think what you mean to say is....
"When they block the way it is camping because it is preventing me from rebelling. I die as soon as I rebel. It's almost like that's usually what happens when I rebel anyways, but I don't like dying when I rebel and so it is unfair"
That. Makes. No. Sense.
A CT preventing you from going somewhere you are
not supposed to be is literally their job.
Do you ever see anyone swapped for standing inside the library when you are walking past it from health? No, you don't. Never happens. Is there a secret in there? Yeah, but he isn't close to the said secret. He is just preventing you from leaving the path the warden gave you. Just like in the example above.
Camping is only applicable when the vents are
not broken. Otherwise, the CT's are simply pursuing the sus/rebellers. They aren't going to give you a path to rebel unless they are bad CT's. That's not part of their job to give you a "chance" to rebel. This statement applies to so many other maps that if you say it here, it can be applied to other maps and ruin a lot of other stuff making it so much easier to rebel.
I will comment on that some people said that this could be considered baiting when they go straight up on the cell. I personally think that needs to be an FAQ answer if that is baiting or not because if there is no one in the cell, generally no one is swapped. Of course, people can come from other cells, but usually, the CT is already well inside the vents by then and it's not really baiting at that point. That's the only valid "question" in this thread. Everything else I stated above only applies to the violation of "camping" the vents, not the baiting part.
