Hey boys, I'm having some issues with my TS not connecting with the following message popping up...

You were kicked from the server by "EdgeGamers" (Proxy/VPN Detected)

Got any ideas on how to solve the issue? (And no, I do not have a VPN running. I've checked multiple times through different sources).

Appreciate all input ^^

Yea this was happening to me for a few weeks, eventually it just went away. For now if you have a hotspot on your phone, connect using the wifi from there and then switch over.

That's extremely inconvenient. So, for a few weeks eGO just kicked you out of TeamSpeak without you having a proxy or VPN running and the only solution was to use a hotspot on your phone and switch over until it subsided? I know in that thread it's stating turn off some stuff, but if you didn't make any changes to anything and the kicking subsided, I would imagine there's an error somewhere. Maybe between the database eGO is matching your IP against?

I know traffic from VPNs(if you're using one) can look identical to proxy traffic, so from a detection perspective there’s no difference – the IP address of the VPN or proxy can be looked up against a database or service. However, proxy providers constantly change their IP address to stay ahead. Additionally, proxies are likely to be hosted by a cloud hosting provider, such as AWS or OVH. Traffic from hosting providers can usually be detected using the IP address.

Even if a proxy isn't on a known list, like under the flag threat.is_proxy, but the request comes from a hosting provider, it would reveal itself under the asn.type flag.

In order to see why you're getting this issue, I would need to review the log of the times you got removed with that message and I highly doubt eGO would allow me that access as I'm not apart of the tech team and I'm just an e. I'm also sure I'm going way too deep on this issue but it's good to stimulate your mind.

there’s also a possibility your isp expanded their ip block including some ips which were previously known commercial ones to the service that verifies ips on teamspeak but I would check out the other options here before assuming that

I'll see about some of the suggestions and get back to y'all with an update on ethe situation. Hopefully one of these tips will work. Appreciate it! ^^

This sounds idiotic and it honestly is, but are you using a VPN?

Nope :c

Already tried this, didn't work. @carter227 What did you do to resolve the problem?

This won't work as I don't have a networkcard. :c

The issue is most likely your proxy settings on your computer. Sometimes if you have a virtual network adapter, it will mask your IP address with a private network address such as 172.18.0.1.
Based from the article you linked I'd have to reconfigure the router which I'd like to use as a last resort. Although I'll consider doing so if there aren't any other solutions that end up working.

this doesn't sound right...

If you're convinced none of this is working try going to something like https://iphub.info/ and seeing if they detect your ip as being commercial

I don't know much about TeamSpeak routing, but maybe its a simple firewall issue with inbound or outbound connections not allowed for TS. Idk why it would change if it was working before but worth looking at just in case.

it's not working because the teamspeak server is kicking him for having a bad ip

Would you be comfortable with letting me take over your PC so I can check some settings? If so, can you please download and install TeamViewer, if you do not already have it downloaded. Please select the free, non-commercial personal use option. Please do not reconfigure any router/firewall settings just yet.

One way or another, we'll get you connected to our TeamSpeak server. I have sent you a DM as well.

I'd rather not to be honest.

I'd rather not to be honest.

That's fine, thanks for being honest. If you've completed the above steps and made sure you're not on a list by using this website: https://iphub.info/ and you don't have a VPN/proxy and you followed this below,

For anyone else that has this try going to windows search "VPN Settings " and turn off the first two settings, which should be "Allow VPN over metered networks" and "Allow VPN while roaming" once you have those off try reconnecting.

and it still hasn't resolved the problem, I can offer you no further support as I won't be making guides to change advanced settings and I am not comfortable with instructing someone to change settings that can potentially expose them on the Internet.

Maybe @Simon can help you from here?

If you change your mind, just shoot me a DM or add me on Steam. Good luck!

So normally, when something like this happens, you're kind of SOL because the options to fix it are kind of janky.

One option is to reset your router and modem entirely. During this process, it should grab a new IP from a DHCP lease pool from the ISP and should hopefully be a non-blocked one.

The other option is to buy a Static IP address from the ISP. Which, unless you're a business or a power user, good luck because they charge a lot.

Uhhh... it started working again, and I have no idea how or why. I've tried connecting every day since the problem occured and for some reason it seems to have solved itself. Haven't done anything since yesterday, and yesterday it didn't work..? So yeah, I guess it's good.. for now.
