Surprise / Pop Up Events Thoughts

I want to know: how do you feel about participating in surprise events where there is no advertising about them?
IMO: I think they are very engaging to do when I have nothing to do.

yes, i never play tf2 but this seems like a good idea, its just hard to organize events . and get people to actually show up

We are encouraging these within our EC team, however given all the events planned this month, they are reasonably stretched thin while we beat our record. Something though for sure we will be doing in the future

Scarox93 We used to do this with Steam announcements for unplanend and regular events.

It sometimes got people to trickle into voice chat for more info and come hang too, before we began. Found a few examples from ages ago. EC's (and others) used to try to send invites to friends online who might be interested in playing too - we used to add a lot of server regulars to try and get them coming too. It led to lots of impromptu fun.

Unless you've disabled them, as long as you have Steam open and someone does a group annoucement and you're in the group, it shall show up.
