Us software engineers like to have around 3. I've got 2 Samsung UW monitors stacked horizontally that I use for government work, and then I have a Samsung Odyssey G9 to the right of them that I use more for personal stuff. However, I work off 3 computers in total, so I have 9 monitors between them all.
