Resolution Issue

guys i need help really badly, ive asked just about everyone on my buddy list and they all dont know so im relying on you guys. My old computer was set on a really high resolution with a 19 in LCD monitor and it does not want to boot. how the heck do i fix it. please guys i really need your help. thank you.

are you sure the resolution is really the problem? I mean, if your comp cant handle the resolution i'd presume you swap another video card it.

but i really don't think that's the problem man.

Does it give you some random error when you try and start up games, or you can't turn on the monitor???B/c I have had a problem where the resolution was set too high and it would not let me start up DoD and it gave me some random code that said error(random #s), if this is it I know how to fix it....

Try with other Monitor or take video card off. Turning on and off the monitor and computer also can help you.If that does not work trow it away since you said it was an old computer.. lol

Boot into safe mode and set the resolution there, it will pass that along to normal.

just change it to like 800 x 600 in safe mode... then reboot... happend to me before I wanted to see if the monitor could handle it... and it couldn't...

if that doesn't work go into safe mode and uninstall the video card and it will reset the resolution then reinstall your video card's driver again...

i tried booting in safe mode and it didnt work, and there is no video card, its integrated graphics.

if you tried booting into safe mode and it gives you nothing, then it's a hardware issue, and nothing you can do about that but replace hardware... integrated graphics have drivers too so it wouldn't be any different then a video card. (didn't mean physically uninstall the video card, just drivers)

safe mode is the end all beat all of software issues... no software can run, most drivers aren't even loaded into safe mode so it's not a driver issue... sounds like you need a video card?

do you see the BOOT message when it first boots (where it shows your hard drives, memory, and bios info)? is your computer doing anything at all when you push the power button? do you hear any beeps?

we'll need a little more information before we can help. tell us exactly what happens when you try to start your machine.
