Im getting the Radeon 4850 here soon and I'm mostly wondering what brand should I go with? I know Sapphire is a good brand, but im still not sure because VisionTek has a lifetime warranty on their's. What one do you think I should go with? I know they are all the same card so I want to know which one offers the best warranty/stability (I'm kind of considering the ASUS one because I love ASUS, but its currently out of stock and when I get the money I kinda want to get it as soon as possible :o Hopefully they get in stock soon then I think I'll just get ASUS)

Well since everyone of those is an AMD reference board and will perform exactly the same I would go w/ the VisionTek since they offer a lifetime warranty where the others are mostly 3years limited.
 
Think I will just go with the VisionTek (Which was my original plan)<3 Lifetime Warranty! I'll still see what others have to say

Same. OC the crap out of it and then when it frys, use the warranty ;)

were it me, i'd go with sapphire. Life time warranty is amazing. but are you really going to be using the same card in 3 years? 5 years? Meh. Take it pick by the looks. I'd go with Sapphire, but that's me. Sapphire is an amazing company.
 
They all look the same...just a different logo...hence the "Reference board and cooler"

go with visiontek, they also have factory overclocked models that come with lifetime warranty.. so its overclocked quite a bit, and its warranted...


its better than overclocking 1mhz to much and screwing yourself out of an RMA

Actually, no. They will release their own OCed and pimped out cards soon, but so far, ATI/AMD hasn't let them. What's out right now are the reference boards and coolers. They're exactly the same performance wise, but each company has their own warranty/other perks that help people choose.

I actually have the asus one and its amazing. the 4850 in general will rock. The visiontek warranty is good. i actually had visiontek card and it was great too never any problems. Whatever choice you make youll love the card! i love mine!

careful doing this - MOST video cards specifically state that OCing or changing hardware on the card (i.e. the cooling apparatus) will void the warranty. so, plan to do so at your own risk.

And what Badger said, Sapphire is a good company and I know it! He also makes a good point about am I really going to have it 3 years? I know they are all the same exact cards just wanting the best perks I can get. I'm kinda of juggling VisionTek, ASUS, and Sapphire. Pretty sure I'm still going VisionTek though but ya never know ;)

Well, I guess it could be possible...but very unlikely. They run hot at stock, so they shouldn't be surprised if they get a few RMAs...

The ATI CCC they have so far doesn't alow you to change the fan speed through the program without editing a few things. At stock the fan speed is extremely slow, all you do is make a profile, go find the .XML file, right click, edit, switch fan to manual function and then put in your own percentage. Others say the card runs just fine if you put it anywhere from 40% - 70%. If you run her at 100% they say it sounds like a hair dryer xD
