re-aligned crosshair more towards the center, and changed from "classic" crosshair, to single dot

Also on Garand with higher resolution/graphics settings, on the side of the eotech where it usually says "eotech" (can only see when other player uses the weapon from the side tho) it now says =(eG)=Milwaukee, and the white you see on the secondary action (first screenshot) it says =eGO)=

anyone else have mean skins for any weapons?

ps. if you want my customzed skins CLICK HERE

please note it has a 30 second timer before you can download it

Installation Guide

To install them, open the .rar file, and open your dod folder

example...

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\yourname\day of defeat source\dod

Now, highlight all 3 folders in the skins folder and drag and drop them directly into the dod folder, it will come up with this warning...

just click Yes to All, and they are installed and ready to use/be seen in your game

hope you all enjoy

I personally am against these eotech type models, They give you an advantage over the regular iron sights by allowing you to be able to see all around your aimpoint when your zoomed in vs having a restricted view with the original iron sights. The only thing a server can do to stop people from using these skins is run in sv_pure mode which makes all players use the default skins. That stops people from having an advantage with these types of models but also hinders other players (like me, a player who creates his own skins for the default models.) who have custom skins that do nothing more than upgrade the looks of the ingame weapons.

Anyways, Thats just my personal opinion and i hold no grudge against anyone who uses these models in their game nor am i targeting you milwaukee for posting these here.

I sort of feel the same way, even though I use a custom scope cross hair for the German sniper rifle. There are so many skins out there and other material modifications that can give players such huge advantages over others. For example, there are skins out there that turn Allies into bright blue models and Germans bright red models, and a quick google image search shows what they look like (Link below). So basically, there is no hiding in dark spots or anywhere with these skins and it's almost impossible to detect somebody with them. Valve's anti-cheat system (VAC) only scans for hacks that modify core .exe and .dll files so people using material modifications like the picture of the skins below will never get VAC banned.

I sort of wish the eGO servers would run in pure mode like many servers do, that way everybody is on an even playing field. That would prevent anybody using any kind of material modifications, but of course they would still be able to use hacks, but aimbots and other hacks are easy to detect.

Quick question Milwaukee, how do you un-install the rifle skins you posted? I'm going to try them out but before I do, I want to make sure they are easy to get rid of in case I don't like them.

Basically I'm against all skins other then those that come stock when you install the game.
The last clan I was in made it against the rules to use any skins, and I also think it would be a good idea if we our own "Pure" Server Maybe even one that rotates on our current Maps.

Cool but keep it basic.

If those skins didn't come with the game then they shouldn't be allowed. If you want the skins you should have to play at one of our custom servers or something like that so the Clean-Real servers like Ava. This is just my opinion I would like the game to stay the way it was when it was bought and installed.

as cool as it looks, i am inclined to agree with everyone else. I consider that a cheat. I can honestly say if I installed those i would kill alot more people. In my honest opinion that should be considered cheating. I think we should investigate the possibility of using the "pure" option on all of our servers.

Yes i agree with every one else but i use skins to from fpsbanana but I only use skins to make them look better

Lol did not know you could add stuff to Dods like skins..... Awesome looking skins for the site, but I do agree people would feel this would be an unfair advantage.. The sites posted are not so bad; I personally would feel ok if people where using them but those player skins.... Would you go that far to win at a game??

Heres a small show of some of my skins: nades, shovels, supports ect. -- Some of the detail was lost converting the image... (15mb original 1.5mb after... lol)

Milwaukee, is there anyway to make the red laser dot more intense red? Like red as your crosshair, when you aim at something really bright or aiming in a bright map, it's hard to see. Did you make these yourself or download them from somewhere? If you made these yourself, what did you use? If you downloaded them, where?

Where did you get those skins Duality they look cool =) Walmart had some awesome skins a while back but he cant find them =( anyone still have them?

no offense guys but im w/ the majority of people here they give you an unfair advantage w/ vision but i dont see a problem with using skins as a whole as long as they dont modify the weapon only make it look cooler just my 2 cents

Wow I was always aware these things were out there but wasn't aware you could use them and not be labeled a cheater. If it just makes things look different, then I would agree there's no problem with that, if it gives you any advantage over stock... ...cheating.

My opinion.

I am not telling anyone else what to do, but I will not use a COD4 type of red dot scope on my weapons for DOD. It was not used in WWII nor did the creators of the game include it. I am all for using fair tweaks that are legal, to make my game run faster. If I were rich I would buy a 12,000 dollar Alienware computer like one of my students has and try and "gain" the advantage by running the game faster. (and yes his computer cost that much). I think it is cheating to modify any weapon away from the game designers plans just to kill more enemies. If a modification on a weapon is simply to give an advantage to someone, then boo to you. Please do not give me the weak lecture that we can all use it. I do not want to and many gamers are lucky that they have any memory space left on their weak little computers as it is. Yes sir guys, go ahead and use your pretty scope, but remember everytime I get lucky enough to take you out, I did it with that weak, totally inefficient little gunsight that you could not use. Thank you.
