My first FPS (First Person Shooter)

How many of you guys like Chex cereal? Well for all of you Chex junkies, how many of you remember ALL the way back to 1997? What was so good about that year? That was the year i got my first computer and played the first game!!!! Now the million dollar question. Can you guess what it is...Nope not doom....Wait I think i heard something from the gentlemen in the back...YES THAT IS CORRECT it is chex quest!!! You know back in the day when you could get a free DECENT game in a box!!! And like the day that you could get america online for free for 50 hours!?!?! Well anyway this game brought back memories from my childhood. And for all that played, and have lost, here it is...

Wolfenstien 3d of coarse (which i still have) and probly my most played fps (around that time) was doom2, never played that one. might check it out

I remember Chex Quest, great game. It's based on Doom, so it should feel familiar to most people.

My first FPS was Wolfenstein 3D which I played a few times at a friend's house. I'm thinking about buying it off of Steam to relive the good times.

ahh the good ol days of Doom, Duke Nukem, Even Goldeneye,

The first would be Doom (use to have lan partys playing that game) then came Duke Nukem, and last would be goldenye..... Ahhh the good ol days

thats the greatest thing i've ever read. zomg i feel old. i used to play duke3d in highschool (on the math class computers). i set up all the computers there with duke3d and we would lan it up after we finished that days math assignment


and yeah that looks like a modified doom game. they did that alot. cuz it was a pretty easy engine to convert

Pretty sure my first FPS was the original wolfenstein....

but the first pc game i ever played was a text type game called think quick... go dos... go 286... 1989 i think, must have been 5 years old.

Notice the version of AOL on there...3.0! WOW that is like ages old...I was a very sheltered kid so i couldn't play much. But my computer sucked back then (but then again who's didn't)

Man... I don't remember my first FPS. FPS was a genre that I tended to dislike when I was younger (preferred RPGs). I think my first FPS was Wulfram II, a game about tanks. It certainly wasn't bad (although the graphics are antiquated). It almost makes me want to go check it out again.... I know for a fact that it is still operating (as of about 6 months ago)... but then I think of TF2, and I stop wanting wulfram.

check it out, though. It is a game about tanks. you are in first person mode, different types of tanks, different weapons that you can attach and use... decent game all around.

However, I believe the learning curve is a royal pain

I still have my chex quest CD. But my first FPS was either Duke Nukem or Chex Quest, I don't remember which.

ahh...good old games...i think my first game was Duke Nukem.....and then the Quake games..and some others...wich names i dont recall right now..but i got the pics in my head
