Future heavy cheating/farming.

How are we gonna handle this? The heavy achivements are MORE ridiculous then the medic ones!

Shoot 1000 bullets? Taunt while invincible? Eat sandwiches?

I imagine servers overrun with stupidity.
 
If anyone is caught intentionally trying to farm the achievements, they may be kicked or even banned, but we'll warn them first.
 
We most likely will have special events where we can do these all together though.
 
The main issue is, alot of these achivements would be considered farming even without actual farming.

Taunting while ubered?

How would the farming achivements be handeled?
 
I can imagine groups of 16 heavies huddling around the supply cabinet shooting into the opposite wall.

If you can get a kill that way, I'm all for it. Anything that involves taunting is good in my books.

As far a farming goes, we'll do it the same way we handled the past two updates, and for all future updates as well. As long as they are out of spawn and not griefing, they are contributing to the game in some way.

Shooting 1000 rounds non-stop - spy checking.
Taunting while ubered - distracting the other team.
Eating food - gaining HP to take more damage allowing your team to kill while not being shot at.
 
if you see a heavy being ubered and running around trying to kill people with (theres speculation that this will happen) a taunt kill ((like the pyro has)) it could be considered grieving

Really? I thought that was legit.
 
Well, I would say send them to the achievement box servers. Let them earn em there since many are incredible ridiculous like the 1000 bullet one. I'm sure you'll have people just waiting in spawn by the supply cabinet and just shooting into the wall
 
do we have achievement servers? :-/ will one be posted for this update?

I don't believe we consider that griefing, but you'd have to consult Advisors or Council about that.

It's spelled with an f, BTW, as they are causing grief, not grieving themselves.

We don't have any but I'm just saying, get rid of the people who aren't actually gonna play and send em somewhere where every1 else is doing the same thing. I'm sure if you told them they would switch
 
why do people even try t get achivements purposely lets just have fun in the servers and what ever happens happens
 
im confused... i dont understand..farming? so whats legal and not legal to do in EGO servers...?
 
We really need to get a real reasonable definition of farming, I keep seeing people getting warned for farming when they simply ask someone to help them finish an achievement. The biggest culprit this times seems like it will be taunting while ubered, which brings 2 thoughts to mind. 1: you can't fault someone for doing something directly encouraged by the game, you might as well yell at soldiers for shooting rockets at people. 2: its going to happen once, then they get the achievement. Doesn't seem like that big a deal.
 
Heavy update will be easy to get achievements so itll be quick to get them and over with, so for a while, yes, we might have to worry

Get on the red team on an attack/defend map and stand next to a dispenser, pretty common tactic. One of my best moments in this game was on gravel pit point c halfway up the tower. Me, another heavy, a medic and a dispenser. Nothing got up the tower in 8 minutes.
