teamspeak / vent ingame

i posted this one in our house forum, but got no answers... so i've to forward this to the division.

hello folks.

it seems i have no clue how to get it working. i've installed the client but i can't find the server ip's for kalt and strand. second thing is, i don't know how it works. never used it before, because i never needed it. now it seems i need some help. is there anybody out there who can give me some advice?

i just got vent installed too and found the first ego server (voice.edgegamers.org), but i'm looking for the ones that i can use ingame with the kalt and strand map. please get me some advise...i'm really confused.

vent is a program which you can use while ur in game, it has only one server and it contains all divisions and extra channels, voice.edgegamers.org is the only server we have on vent.

there is no ip. just have vent open while in-game, and press the left ctrl button (or whatever button it is you have set to key the mic) to talk thru vent while playing. Just make sure your're in the correct ROOM.

ok, that's what i wanted to know. thx a lot! but what room do i exactly use for the maps? as i remember there are rooms for the houses but not for the maps.

Dambusters - Strand
Raiders - Donner
Imperial Guard - Avalanche
Hell Hounds - Flash
Sewer Rats - Kalt
Reservior Dogs - Flash
Foriegn Legion - Palermo

Remember, just because people are in these rooms in vent doesn't always mean they are in that particluar map, or even playing.

ok...so i can use vent to talk to the people online AND use it as teamspeak while i'm active on the servers. do i need to setup something else in steam, or was that it? how can i exactly use it on the server, so that my team can hear me?

just a little edit...i just tried it on the server...and it didn't work. i am doing something wrong, but i don't know what.

This is how it works. You will hear people in game and hear people in vent. In game, when you press whatever button you have have mapped to use vent (By default, it is Left Cntrl, although I prefer left Alt), you can talk to people in vent. When you press whatever button you have mapped to use chat in game, only people in game will hear you.

now thx a lot all of you guys. i have fixed it. it worked just got some trouble with the soundcard cause i'm using an external one. sometimes it's too much to handle
