Linux users?

Does anybody else use Linux and wine for playing games?

I use kubuntu linux and latest wine to play. I dont like windows because it is so unstable and slow.

I've played HL2 on Ubuntu Wine, but TF2 wouldn't run, and HL2 ran at like 30 FPS, when I usually get like 90 with the same settings. So I'm back to windows.

Do you run it with -dxlevel 81 ? It makes it run well. And remember to update, etc etc.

You need to install your games to wines virtual drive, running games from windows drive/folders wont work, install it to wine.


And I think that Linux and Wine are now stable enough for seriously gaming.

I would use it if I did anything other than gaming.

But unfortunately, all I do is game, so Linux won't provide much of a benefit for me.

Also you can try other things than wine. Crossrover should work better.
