Hey guys.

Well,since I got a virus from DoD:S, looks like I won't be playing anymore . My mom got pissed really bad because she blames it on DoD. She knew that someday this would happen. Well, it finally came . I had to pay for it to be fixed and I was trying to get towards a PS3. Well, looks like that won't be coming anytime soon.

I'll miss gaming with you all. I love the servers. I'll be on the forums because I don't want to leave this wonderful clan. If, and when I get a PS3 I would like to know if you guys have one .

Someday, I'll get DoD:S back and be playing with you guys soon hopefully .

Ehh, maybe his mom blaming it on DoD has a lot to do with it. I've actually been in a similar boat with that a few days ago, except it was my computer alone and it's not a virus, lol.

well im 14 and yea i get that alot too but the last part will be impossible my dad built my computer and worked at a computer shop for like 5 years or so...so i cant really question his knowledge on computers but he knows that games like DOD dont give viruses...but i dont think DOD can give viruses

Agreed. You cannot get a virus from Day of Defeat. It's a myth. Now if you download something off the internet and LOAD it into day of defeat like a skin, mod, etc and it ran an .exe that could be were you would get a virus.

I think you can download viruses, if you are downloading files off servers, they can just upload a virus onto their server? However its really unlikely since no one is going to pay monthly for a server just to send viruses to others. Also the servers would be completely empty if it was a virus uploader.

yes...that's what i would like to know. the only way to receive stuff like that is when your client downloads foul files from a server. normally a simple firewall would block actions like that. so is suppose that you've got the virus anywhere but not from eGO servers, because much other people would have the same problem like you. i think this just came on your mom's mind because she didn't like you playing games like this. normally parent don't know how modern pc's or even the internet works...that's what i've dicsovered. anyway...i'm old enough to do what i wan't in live *lol*

I got 15 trojans on my p.c. not long ago and they completely embedded their selfs and my dad went mental, but I went off, figured out how to get rid of them and my dad asks me now if he has anything wrong with his p.c.

My mom also said that now the only gaming in our house is my PS2 . Well, atleast when I get a PS3 .

She thinks that when ever I chat with other people in DoD anybody has a chance to access our computer (don't ask me how coz I don't know how).

And the virsus was "Anitvirus XP 2008". It said that we had 740 something viruses and the McAffe and Nortan programs scanned our computer and didn't find a thing.

Then it is a Fake virus scanner, and those fake Virus scanner most of the time give you viruses...

Well, I jsut found out that Steam is still running. It started when I logged in so now I just need my account name and stuff and I'll be set to go, unless somehow Steam won't run again , but I won't be playing as much as I used anymore.
