Today I was minding my business playing TF2, then this is the conversation I had with Edge that he Private Messaged me on steam about.

=(eG)=? Edge: My friend has 1 clan enter the community it! *Link removed for safety of clan
=(e)=? Silent_Ninja ^.^: Were you hacked?
=(eG)=? Edge: because my friend! help the community in it
=(eG)=? Edge: no
=(eG)=? Edge is now Offline.

How'd I know it was a fishing website?
1. Because who starts a conversation with a link? That's just not how Edge is.
2. in the link steamcommunity was spelled wrong....

So as a precaution from now one If ANYONE and I mean ANYONE I do not care if it is your best friend, sister, husband, wife or someone you know in real life sends you any link at all Do not click it. I don't care if it's a youtube link a myspace link NO. We have lost way too many members to phishing and hacking lately and I don't want to lose anymore, If anyone sends you a link that you suspect to be a phishing website remove them from your friends list and alert your fellow members please.

Thats excessive, as far as I know it's not possible to mask links on Steam Chat bar using a URL redirect, which isn't the kind of thing a Youtube link would provide.

Yep - I was about to post about this, and then found a thread indicating disapproval of the warnings.
HUH?
Is it aggravating? Skip the thread. The Edge's account got stolen, that's what I care about, plain and simple. Y'all might want to give him a call and let him know.

Here's what it all looked like in case you haven't seen it yet:
