I want it :D

Hmmm. Thats pretty clever. Its crazy to think about how much the world has evolved since crappy technology in the 60's and 70's. Bad looking cars, black and white TV's with like 10 channels...imagine 30 years from 2008.

I think everybody would be very lazy... If they can't even move their fingers....

I wouldn't doubt it. The world is just going to get lazier because now as you can see they're creating things where you don't have to do ANYTHING.

Yep... we willll be the brains of the machines =/

Think about it though, this could possibly help people with arthritis etc. to be able to play PC games again. :)

Btw. Let's hope we don't turn out like in Wall-E. :D

how noble of you Sec, but it's true

just imagine, the best FPS clans will be made up of paraplegics, and they'll probably pwn our asses!
how cool is that!

Still, for some of us it will be hard leaving our trusty rodents behind.

i would rather have a good challenge with the mouse in one hand and the keyboard in the other.

This is a step toward the future but, has anybody really stopped to think about what this is going to do to us?

Now we all go online and kill each other with the click of a mouse? in the future when we want to frag somebody we are going to have to think about killing them.

I know this is going to be bad? Can you see the headlines? ?A man sidestepped in the grocery store today to avoid knocking over the cassavas only to be sliced in half by Logan who was apparently startled by his strafing? story at 11.?

i would rather use the novint falcon and a joystick :P
but that would be great training for airforce pilots and stuff
but it takes one of the strong points of gaming (handeye coordination) and just makes it into how fast your processor is (brain :P)
---edit---
I doubt anything would get that drastic, people thought once the tv came out that the streets would be barren wastelands...
actually i remember reading a story wrote in like the 30's about that
and it said it was based on facial expressions, so its not going to be like ok i need to shoot him now running through your head or anything

The action of an electrical transformer is the simplest instance of wireless energy transfer. The primary and secondary circuits of a transformer are not directly connected. The transfer of energy takes place by electromagnetic coupling through a process known as mutual induction. (An added benefit is the capability to step the primary voltage either up or down.) The battery charger of an electric toothbrush is an example of how this principle can be used. The main drawback to induction, however, is the short range. The receiver must be very close to the transmitter or induction unit in order to inductively couple with it.
Resonant induction
Main article: Evanescent wave coupling
In 2006, Marin Soljačić and other researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology applied the near field behaviour well known in electromagnetic theory to a wireless power transfer concept based on coupled resonators. In a theoretical analysis, they demonstrate that by sending electromagnetic waves around in a highly angular waveguide, evanescent waves are produced which carry no energy. If a proper resonant waveguide is brought near the transmitter, the evanescent waves can allow the energy to tunnel (specifically evanescent wave coupling, the electromagnetic equivalent of tunneling[citation needed]) to the power drawing waveguide, where they can be rectified into DC power. Since the electromagnetic waves would tunnel, they would not propagate through the air to be absorbed or dissipated, and would not disrupt electronic devices or cause physical injury like microwave or radio wave transmission might. Researchers anticipate up to 5 meters of range for the initial device, and are currently working on a functional prototype.

now This is very simple idea. The same way of making a transformer.
The ball contains a winded coil (secondary) connected to LEDs. Under the white plate there is another winded coil connected to an AC power supply(Primary coil). When the current passes through the primary it creates a magnetic field, this field creates a current in the secondary that operates the leds [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyOd9clpdcw[/ame]
