I was wondering if you could buy a hard copy of a game then use the pin code to download from steam? It's because left 4 dead hasn't been released yet in the philippines fortunately my mom is on a business trip in hong kong so she bought it for me ( =D) but she won't be back till tuesday so I was wondering if I could ask her to give me the pin code/c.d. key of the game and just DL it from steam. If possible please tell me how to do it thanks in advance

Yes, of course. When you load steam, if you look under the "game" tab, you will see it says "Activate a steam product". You can punch in the CD-Key and activate L4D on your account and download it.

yeah every box comes with a activation code so they dont get poeple who can use the same code more then once (btw when u buy the hard copy it install way faster then if u get a online copy )
