Now I know the kills are just basic stuff, what im trying to do with this footage is making it much clearer so that i know what im doing. How can I make this vid much clearer and not as pixilated? I found the free download for fraps so that i dont have to record 30 sec intervals, and it looks very good while im splicing the footage i want, its after that once the final recording is done it looks like this. What am i doing wrong? What is the FPS that you guys use to record? How else can I go about making a decent recording? One more thing...Im using video impression version 2 to splice everything together....I also have Windows movie maker 2, but for some reason i cant get windows movie maker 2 to download the file to youtube.com. Any other input is very much welcome....thx in advance guys.

That has to be about the most ignorant thing I have ever read on this forum.

And let me tell you I have read a lot!!!

Sounds you're like one of those kids who's dedicated to windows because he could never figure out how to work a mac.

LordGatz and Sacrament, stop this now, i know this will lead to an argument so i would advise for you not to post about each other.

seriously way to start a flame war, it doesnt matter where he edits it.

Back on the original topic, I do not know enough about fraps recording. However, I have some thoughts even though i cant view the video. If it is pixelated, then chances are whatever software you are using, is doing a poor resizing algorithm like nearest neighbor, even though resizing down shouldnt introduce pixelization. Frames per second would not create pixelization, only jerky playback, you probably want to get around 30 fps for a good video, without making the framerate too high or too low. Also check the resolution fraps is recording at. Then finally go back and if you know how to, check the codec that is being used to encode the final video and make sure the bitrate is high enough, etc etc.

heres the same vid...sorry about the first, deleted it...bit better quality, still tweeking it up a bit. One of the problems was how it was produced, I recorded it on High resolution and now the words are a bit more ledgable. Ill post both links to where u can view it either here or at youtube where u can get the high quality...no need to comment on the kills, like i said basic stuff...only need help with quality of recordings thanks.

heres the first link:

lol darn i love aruing mac vs pc. oh well, heheh.
i don't know how to clean up videos in the movie maker you're using, but my suggestion for next time is to make sure you have your graphics turned up as much as you can in-game, if that's not what you had done already.
Good luck!

Not trying to start the war again, but I've edited video on both Windows and Mac and I must say I prefer the Mac.

But, I think your problem is in the exporting. Exporting as MPEG is my favorite, but it takes some fine tuning. Also remember that you're recording in HD sizes and editing and possibly exporting as SD.

YouTube does a fine job of screwing up your videos too. You should try converting to Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas. They're eons better than Movie Maker.

Your framerate looks a bit low. If you have this saved as a demo, I would lower your resolution considerably for recording, as it will be better than resizing later and it will bump up your framerate which will look a lot smoother with playback. Since your video is probably going to end up resized and small anyways, if you want larger text I would definitely recommend lowering your resolution. In fact, try setting your resolution as low as 640x480. Should give you much better framerates for recording (I would cap it at 30 though) and should make the text larger and more legible.

Oh and Btw grimm, sony vegas and primiere arnt free at all, i got sony vegas 8 and love it!
