Far Cry 2 feels like a budget game to be honest. It feels like they left a lot of content out. Wrongly mirrored Models, Vehicle Mechanics, unexciting modes of transport.

It's mostly driving around in solely the first person and being ambushed by random rebel patrols and having to take the occasional Malaria pill or be forced to listen to a very obnoxious sound. Enemies have a prefire reflex in the campaigns (And I play everything on the hardest).

They made everything a tone of Amber and Earth to hide the gigantic lack in particles. The original was good for the time. And Crytek's Crysis was an excellent game, and better with streamlined prettier version modifications. But Far Cry 2 is about as fun as a rickety vehicle ride in boring, canyon and river roads can be.

Oh, great, and I just bought it in the Steam sale. I shouldn't have read this... lol

I rather liked Far Cry, and alot of the graphics were very well done. But they did leave out some details that irked me a bit, such as how a fence post or small tree will stop you dead in your tracks. Also, it gets REALLY old dealing with all the checkpoints.

Best FPS: "Lock and load"

mrmble.. DEAD SPACE has the best ENGINE out in the market right now.. how often can you aim for a fool and shoot off the foot? and still have all the models take on damage as they are hit? ill grab a lvl 5 suit picture when i first get it, play for a bit then takea nother picture... it actually leaves scratches and crap on the armor :0

Well havent played or seen someone play GoW2 yet, but i heard its awesome and intence, I only can say that FC2 graphics execed my expectation, their awesome.

I will consistently vouch my buyers remorse for Farcry 2 and encourage others not to buy it. It seems rushed and poorly paced.

Graphics i would say MGS4 and Even if i rly like R2 is would say L4D

While you do hit a few good points that I have to agree on. Farcry 2 is still a fun game. The content is the primary issue with the game. It feels like Assassins Creed where there is a massive world, but with little variety in what can be accomplished or done. Though I think it is better than the orignal Crysis...even though comparing these two is a bit like comparing apples and oranges. It is not as packed as some other well known open world games...i.e. GTA.

Farcry 2 suffers from horrible FOV, limited physics and gigantic gaps in actual entertainment factor. when you play the game for the first hour or hour and a half, you've pretty much had it all. Throw in an extra 15 minutes for each gun you decide to buy, but its not dynamic and the AI is no where as good or lifelike as Crysis on Delta. Enemies spot you in the tall grass a savannah away at the sound of a gunshot, unlike Crysis where they duck or look at where the round was placed.

The Vehicle rides are by far the most obnoxious part of Farcry 2. Its safer to just walk, because you're not going to go more than 15 minutes (And thats how long it takes to drive places on the same roads with the same guard posts that respawn as soon as you're not drawing it.) without getting shot up.

The original concept seemed really good, but theres a strong dropoff. Theres also very minimal modifications and tweaks that you can do to fix these gaps like particles and pretty much making the game more Pretty. In Crysis you can get a little mod called Triple C and bring your game to the Maximum of dX 9.0c and even higher.

They also talked about how dynamic the wildlife is in Farcry 2 and that had very upsetting shortcomings. Zebras and Wild Boar just run around. Theres no risk of being trampled and they do seem very very mundane. They will almost always run away from you when they detect you and run to the nearest foot patrol enemy. The Dynamic Fire is pretty I'll admit, but theres mods coming out for that in Crysis.

The story line isn't very noteworthy either. You get a selection of characters yes, but that just means all the people that you could have been instead are now NPCs.

The Online isn't too interesting either.

Theres no way GoW looks better than FC2 with everything jacked up

Take my word for it, it does. Gears of War two is probably the greatest looking game ever made and really does set the bar for future games.

The sole reason for that is because Gears of War 2 is using a very common Engine, being Unreal 3. And since it's creation Unreal has always been a modular engine to use in games. Consider that even the original Splinter Cell used the Unreal Engine. And if you played it at all, it had Dynamic light and shadow.

Crytek had nothing to do with the creation of Farcry2 which is why they went with their own Dunia engine.

To compare a First Person Shooter graphics to Third Person, you seem pretty zealous to GOW, but in reality consider you're over the shoulder and not having to stare at your characters arms throughout most of the game.

Recap

Dunia Engine is a proprietary engine made specifically for FC2
Gears of War uses Unreal 3 which is widely used and was just tinkered around with to make Gears.
