Dont know if it really should be in the this area but it involves TF2 aswell so here goes xD:

For a while now i haven't been able to get into TF2 and play because it continuously Alt+tabs me out and back in repeatativley and it starts as soon as i start loading a round, this also happens with G Mod, and it may have something to do with a virus im having lately but it hasnt done that before because ive had the same one about 3 times. But when i start up another Full screen game such as Battlefield 2 it works normally and nothing wrong happens.

So just wandering if you guys have any suggestions as to what i could do to sort it out, cause need to back on BM server and get back in the 1000s for positions...

you could try reinstalling steam. the games are tied to your accounts so youll still have em

i had that problem too, it turns out it was a virus, the only way i solved that problem was playing in windowed mode, but as that got extremely anoying, i ended up just reseting my whole computer. try the windowed mode first though, probably the better choice

i had that problem too, it turns out it was a virus, the only way i solved that problem was playing in windowed mode, but as that got extremely anoying, i ended up just reseting my whole computer. try the windowed mode first though, probably the better choice

By windowed mode you mean pressing Alt+Enter or something to minimize proper full screen?... or how would you do it if it isnt Alt+Enter?...

I think this has happened to me before, usually when I first start the game but then IM someone or something. I think i just held alt-tab until that little window pops up with all my other windows and then get to the tf2 window on that and let go. Then tf2 goes into fullscreen like its supposed to. Not a permanent fix though, I don't know what's causing it for you

I've had this problem a few times (at least I think this is the problem) and the first time the thing that worked was reinstalling steam, but one time that didn't work so I messaged some friends and found out my RAM was corrupt so I went rifling through my PC and it worked for a while, then it stopped. Then I realized that when it worked my webcam was not plugged in and when it was plugged in, it would stop working so I've stopped using my webcam. anyway, the point is that one of your accessories, headset or something, could be corrupt, or your RAM could be corrupt.

Hmmm, well right now i got a virus and loads of Trojans, and stuff which come in by the 100s out of no where and im on a lockdown firewall so no idea where they come from, but ill give some stuff a go cause havent been able to play in a while and i want to, gonna lose my pyro skills

google it, ask friends everywhere, talk to friends in real life and try everything you can think of to fix it.... That's what I do when I have a computer problem. and my brother isn't here

I fix all of my friends computers when something like this happens.
If you've got a lot of viruses and trojans, you computer sounds half way gone as it is, and soon, steam wont be the only thing that won't run. you might even get a worm soon that could permanantly damage your drive.

If this were my computer i would bite the bullet, boot into safe mode, back up my absolute have-to-have's (music documents passwords etc), re-download all of my drivers, and reformat.

It sounds really extreme and time consuming, but if you have all you drivers you could have it back up in running in about three hours.

Afterward, it will run faster, be more reliable, and you can pyro as much as you like.

I recommend AVG free as an antivirus, and ZoneAlarm as a firewall.

I think first you should take care of your virus and trojan problem. At first there just annoying but then it gets to the point where you have trouble even surfing the web. Computer slows way down, pop-ups, ect]. This happend to my son i ended up reformatting his hard drive.

What Landmaster said is actually the only thing ive done before in the past and they have disappeared, and worked fine, but i keep getting the virus cause a spammer goes on a server in G mod and does weird stuff, but ive done scans with my spyware doctor and it says its fine because its found everything, just need to to Ctrl+Alt+Delete and find the programs which are not meant to be, but if it fails ill just get a new Hard drive i think, but last time i had to get a new 1 i had over 1000 infections and virus together in the PC just hadnt done a check in ages which to be honest is quite stupid

Dude ya gotta clear up those viruses one way or the other. Please tell me your using some type of virus protection. Run adaware or malware bytes. If it is too bad you may be better off reinstalling. Stay away from sights etc that you know will cause problems. There are at least some free programs out there if cost is an issue. They will run scans at night as well so it doesn't cut into your play time.

Actually, i do have Spyware Doctor which always works for me and, to be honest i go on my mates PC if i want to look at something >.<(Just because he has Norton so it can detect viruses better than mine ). Only reason i got the virus cause a spammer entered G mod server ive been on and he:
A. crashed server/spammed it to hell
B. Somehow gave me a virus but i havent a clue how.
Anyways, i think the virus side of things are gone, thanks to Ctrl+Alt+Delete and my friends keen eye for obvious virus programs like "IEXPLORE" which actually to me i thought was Internet explorer but obviously not.
Mozilla Firefox FTW!!!

Now i just need to sort out the actual problem and get my HL2 based games or whatever just says HL2 in the Task Manager and get back into the servers .

i second that avg hasn't let me down yet, nor in fact have the others, avast is also quite good

Y'all just reminded me to run a scan.

I also use:

AVG, Spybot S&D, and Lavasoft's Ad-Aware.

Accept no substitutes. You may already have browser hijackers that will alter your search parameters and through social engineering, cause you to download a similiarly-named impostor "anti-spyware" program that is actually spyware in and of itself.

In looking for viruses...check the authenticity of your anti-virus software FIRST.

Personal experience...yeah, I was gullible. Now I'm cynical.

If you've got a worm in your PC it's going to keep multiplying.
