Computer Problems!!!

So i am trying to install my new 9800gt card in a gateway mother board, But the card isn't getting recognized once i install it and won't let me put on the drivers but it still works to display the desktop. I've tried to turn off the on board video but don't believe their is a switch for it in the Bios. I was thinking that maybe the PCI-E port isn't 2.0 but the box says it should work with PCI-E and PCI-E 2.0. If anyone has some suggestions on whats wrong i would love to try em out. thanks and hope to get back asap once this problem is fixed
 
Go to forums and look for the Tech Help forum. They have a tech Talk forum. Post your question there.
 
Call the manufacturer of the card. It could be somewhat faulty card. They'd be able to help you cause they'll be able to get more specific details from you.

well dont ya think if the problem wasent solved that that person would come back and say HEY thats not it?
and a lot huh 2 posts. 1 2 months old and this 1..
ppl helping on a post ok ,but bringing up a post,from 3 pages back makes no sense.

well i guess it just happened that the first two tech threads i opened up had your complaint at the end. Nevertheless, not really needed. It doesnt matter if the thread is old. People are still going to make posts. They are trying to be helpful. I would not mind it as much if you were contributing around the forums but I believe you have been. I apologize if I sound harsh but your on the line of harassment.

if you used to have integrated, you need to turn it off
another problem it could be is the old drivers are still being used, try using driver cleaner
