Microphone

ok so i have windows vista home premium and this sound card http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=209&subcategory=669&product=17988
it has been working fine but now when i play css my mic. doesnt work
my mic. is built in and it has been working fine but it just randomly stopped working (it doesnt work in other programs or games either)
it says in the control panel its working fine but it isnt! any ideas?

This may sound stupid but check to see if the mic got muted some how.
I'm not sure how it works with vista but for Windows XP-control panel/sounds and audio devices. Make sure the box is not checked. There might be the same option for your sound card also.

when booting hold delete key or f2 depending on maker..then look around for it.
