Airsoft

I have actually never played airsoft..

I'm saving for a computer and have been for the past year, that's most likely why :D

go to www.airsoftguns.com no it is not a little spam site it is a good airsoft gun place

Air splat= Horrible company

My brother ordered a G36 which was in stock, and got 2 day delivery for a extra charge. 2 months later, we were pretty annoyed. Apparently the gun was "stuck in customs" in Taiwain, but it was listed as in stock and would arrive in two days...

After 3 months of waiting, he finally got it.

yay for airsplat!

I play a little paintball and decent amount of airsoft.... I have a 500+ fps sniper for airsoft

The paintball vs airsoft lol
I dont really like paintball.....but whatever

My new M14 according to the poor man chrono shoots about 350-370fps with .20's...STOCK!

I tried to shoot it threw the bottom but it just left a nice big ol dent.

The M14 is a beast....just the battery it came with sucks......only thing I hate about it.(played a game today)

www.airsoftgi.com is a good site....I ordered my dot and some silicon spray and they are always updating me on my order. So far so good.

yup the age old airsoft vs paintball argument. i find airsoft to be more friendly to the people that don't feel like dumping as much money into it. meaning we won't be jerks if you come to the field with a clear plastic springer. i went to play paintball with a 350 dollar marker and was laughed at needless to say i haven't looked back after starting airsoft. with that said some of the airsoft places i go to include www.airsoftextreme.com (i go into the stores but they are great online) and www.gamepod.com (these guys supply daniel mcknight if you know who he is)

i've played airsoft before and i foudn it boring. i remember when i used to have bb guns and we would shoot them at each other. now that was fun. at first it kind of stung but you got used to the bb's.

although invest in paintball so much more fun. i loved it when i used to play paintball with a bunch of friends of mine.

Actually if it became an airsoft vs paintball thread it'd probably do better. I mean, then you would have the paintball peaople and the airsoft people in here debating back and forth over which is better. Just my .02 though...

After...

Added a NC Star red-dot (25 bucks from Airsoft GI) and 5 King Arm Mid Caps from Airsoft Carolina.
Not much added but I like it. Now to upgrade the internals.

i have a nice gun that kindof looks like the smg from halo.. i can get a screen shot of the gun in a bit..

it fires 300 feet per second but the reloding sucks.. it only has 40 bullets and with a sub machine gun, i run out of ammo in like 4 seconds.. also reloding is a nightmere.. it takes me forever

i am about to buy like 3 more clips so i can relode the gun faster

Firstly, generally things that are modeled after guns like that will be terrible performers. Buy a speed loader, won't take so long.

Also, it's reload.

One thing people unfamiliar about airsoft need to understand is that FPS MEANS LITTLE TO NOTHING!

Performance of a gun is based upon the following:
Hop up- the most important part! Good hopup, as long as other things are up to par, will yield good accuracy, and range.

Barrel, smooth, precision barrels will yield good performance, kinda self-explanatory.

Internals... again, obviously high-quality parts make a good gun.

NO where in any situation with FPS matter.

I've been dealing airsoft guns for over 2 years, and here are the brands I would recommend, and not recommend.

RECOMMENDED:
High quality Taiwanese-made:
Tokyo Marui- cannot go wrong with TM, inventors, and the model manufacturer for airsoft as long as it's been around. Cannot match the quality control.

Classic Army- had some troubles at first, nice metal bodies, and performance is close to that of TM, and generally shoot a little "hotter" out of the box.

Chinese/Clone Brands:
JG (Jin Gong)- if you are going cheap, this is the brand to get. I've dealt with over a dozen of these, and they are very impressive. Great starter guns, and have proven very reliable, and can accept industry-standard TM parts in their guns.

A&K- pretty solid guns. Their more notable line is their affordable M249s. Decent brand, not as good as JG though.

AGM- similar to A&K, M14 model is their flagship gun

Dboys- Nice metal-bodied guns, gaining reliability as they go along.

AVOID!!!!
CYMA
BE (Both Elephant)
Jin Peng
Pretty much any brand other than those listed above.

NOTE: ICS makes good guns, but for the money, not worth it.

I'd be happy to offer anyone wanting info on the sport plenty of help or very good gun pricing, just give me a shout!

Inferno. I'd add King Arms to that list. I have their FAL Carbine and love it. And I've been airsofting for 5 years :p

Not that I'm trying to promote any sites but I've seen a couple of links to retailers here so I figure an information only players site should be okay. http://www.floridaairsoft.com

Mostly caters to players in Florida but full of good reviews and the forums are jammed with useful information. If you can't find a thread on your question, ask. Folks there are friendly and mighty knowledgeable. Word of caution, however; they have a no minors policy (must be 18+) and take it pretty seriously. About as seriously as we take griefers on our servers.

Ahh yes, King Arms is also a great brand, however I'd place that more along the lines of ICS since King Arms is rather expensive for what you ultimately get in relation to the performance of a TM, but you get more aesthetics with KA.
