Seems someone got riled up enough in the pigeonhole of players farming achievements, that he decided to make a plugin and post the ID's to the public. Rather interesting to see people be so riled up about it, but yeah..

Might see more of these things in the future, not entirely sure.

I, for one, welcome it. Though i'll probably fall victim to the same IDX tagging in the future when I get my gaming rig back up and running again sometime over this next month and want to get my scootan games back up to par.

In other news.

The internet divorced me for valentines and i'm stuck with a DIMM2 socket error for my mobo. Gotta love the clunkyness of the 680i chipset. =\

Oh, its fake.. I was like, What were being banned for trying to get unlocks so we can play the game to the fullest.
 
saw my name there, but who cares...I dont play with heavy medic or scout enough to be able to get all those unlocks on a regular server, what does it matter how I unlock them in the first place. Personally, Id like it even more if they just gave the new weapons out instead of haveing to unlock them.
 
Yes, please, let's force players out of achievement servers and back onto normal servers so they spend hours double-jumping in a corner there instead.
 
it'll never catch the unlocker program, kinda like how valve didn't catch it either

it only took me about 30 mins of normal playing to get it half done....did it in blackmase vents waiting on dispencer to heal me..


Anyways there is one thing flawed with this list. He didnt get the ones that did all but one thing for the achivement. He only the ones that compleated them

Having unlocks based on achievements is crap anyway. I should be able to use the Force-A-Nature whenever I want, without the Hobson's choice of farming.

Because, let's be honest: What's the difference between getting on a private server and doublejumping with your friends all over 2.0FORT and going onto a real 2.0FORT server and doublejumping everywhere. Answer: Pissed off pubs who are tired of seeing you doublejump (Jack Burton is correct).

I spent a couple of hours with some friends on my private machninima server goofing off and doing all the annoying things required to get the bare minimum of achievements to get the equipment. Yes, I feel dirty for farming (how much over the last few weeks have I decried farming? The word you are looking for is hypocrit-rocket), but may of the achievements, while not impossible without help (light a spy on fire while he taunts with the disguise kit), are just plain annoying or silly.

I think this guy just doesn't have any friends, and so he decided to honeypot people with an achievement server. If he really wanted to swat dirty rotten farmers, he would have just logged-and-banned anyone who joined the server as a potential farmer.

Achievements should be rewards for playing a game above and beyond the basic game mechanics. Unlocks, especially weapon unlocks that everyone is going to get, shouldn't be based on achievements. I now have achievements that I feel I haven't earned, but had to farm, because I didn't want to keep having my sentry guns BONK!ed without being able to give as much as I get. So... Hey, Valve? No more weapon unlocks based on Achievements, yeah?

(The other way to look at this is this: about 1/3 of the achievements are obvious farm baits. THe aforementioned flame the spy, for example. I bet Valve puts in 1/2 throw away achievements compared to 1/2 decently difficult achievements, BECAUSE they know achievements are going to be farmed. Have a few that are easily farmed, and a few that can be farmed, but only by dedicated people who have no goal in life other than getting achievements.)
 
As always autodmc, you post a wall of text with brick wall logic. You perfectly stated what my brother (Chocceh) and i both agree on. Acheivements should not be tied with unlocks.

Don't Worry guys, you dont have to worry about being banned from servers for farming. If a server owner cares that much for his server, he wouldnt ban people for farming. ill admit, i have farmed, but the guy who made this webpage is a total idiot.
 
Go to the farm. Hang out with the pigs, the chickens, and the cow patties.
