Complaints about lag. Stop!

Hey guys. This has been a major issue. Pubs, I can imagine complain about the lag. But seriously guys, Members of eGO? This, in my opinion has got to stop. I see people saying "OMG WTF IS WITH THIS LAG" pubs most of the time, yet there are sometimes, again, members saying that.

If you want to help eGO, advisors say all you need to do is "Recruit, recruit, recruit." This means, get people in this clan! I don't think people love people complaining about anything, let alone lag!

Most members, and you should be, up to date with the latest eGO news, and news a few weeks ago, you would have seen that our servers, hosted in Dallas, Texas, are cloudy with a chance of rain. We have been having level 3 issues, issues above our server host's ability to fix.

Although, if you are NOT getting choke, which is packet loss from the server to your computer, it IS server lag. A way to test, is if it lags, type in console

Then you will be able to view your packet-fps-latency, whatever info! If you lag, and your choke jumps up to say 5, you're probably experiencing ISP lag. Your ISP is your Internet Service Provider. They, if you don't get it, provide your internet service.

Although, if you are experiencing lag, and you don't get any choke at all, maybe 1 choke, for computer slowness, it is just your computer.

This is Server lag: You can keep walking, and when you finally choke too much, you just sit there and shake, until you regain your steadiness. THIS IS SERVER LAG!

Now, as I have explained, if it is your Computer or your ISP, you shouldn't be complaining, as it is not our fault. Even if it is server lag, stop complaining! There's nothing we can do! Seriously guys, it anouys the heck out of everyone, I ragequit and came to type this, because I was seeing an eG (No names mentioned) going "LAGGGGG LAG LAG DEATH O' LAG!"

If you fail, please don't blame the lag. If you lag, please don't complain. Please, I beg. Thanks for reading.

ya i agree, and im a little guilty of this myself, tho it isn't much of complaining but more so explaining. i complain out loud to myself and might even swear, but basically all i do is try to explain that i can't rush because of lag at the beginning, or something blah blah. but even that i guess is a bit of a dampener. i shouldn't say anything. i enjoy these servers greatly and im really enjoying the clan even the short time i've been here. its a great community and the people i've interacted with over the servers are more than enough to compensate for the lag.
lets be honest, if its too bad we could all use a break once in awhile, maybe i'll even try that sunshine fad people have been talking about!

Also don't forget that the last steam update changed some settings so everyone has to go in and tweak their settings to get the best experience on each server. This is no matter what server you get on. If you need help with that, just ask someone will help out.

If you have not donated to help us get the best boxes to keep this from happening, SHUT IT! 8D JK, but really should you complain if you have not donated?? Something to think about.

After a 6 month break from TF2, I play so poorly I have no reason to blame lag. ^^
Hope you get it fixed tho, I saw some people warping a few days back in 2fort but it didn't bother me that much.

I don't complain about lag, but after a "lag spike" I tend to ask others if they experienced it as well so as to find out whether or not my computer is the problem. Sometimes programs start running while I'm in-game and my slow computer gets seriously affected, so it's good to know so I can fix the problem.

Very very true!! eGO members should know better, especially after having received admin.. Complaining about lag isn't a very good way to support the clan guys.. as for checking whether i have lag or not, hehe, i have a constant ping of 190-220, so it won't make too much difference ;p still manage to get kills ;p
