CS: the starting block to pwnge?

idk aobut you guys but i started playing c2(1.6) when i was 10 and i got reallllllllly good(and i still am) so now that im 15 i've started playing DoD, CoD, Halo, etc. and i've noticed that im extreamlly good at all those games because i use the same stratigies that i use in CS. like

Rushing, camping...um.........camping


so you can prertty much throw any first person shooter at me and i can pwn at it soo...


i was just woundering could CS be the key to pwnage?

or is it all in your head? :P

yeah dude 1.6 if you own at that u can own at source becuase in 1.6 the recoil is different and a bit harder for me to aim at.
I love 1.6 and i always will :]
 
ya i do agree, 1.6 is the key to pwnage.
maybe i should hop back on there in order to buffer up my source skills again
 
I disagree, and the reason is this

FPS is the same throughout all types of games. You press W,A,S,D to move, and mouse1 to shoot. Once you get used to that format, it doesn't matter what game you play, you'll be better. Of course there are different strategies you use in different games, but the basic core gameplay stays the same....

I started my FPS career with Doom, advanced through the years and here i am, king of all FPS's and I've only played CS:S. (haha I'm such a kidder with that "king of all FPS's" junk)

So basically once you know the basic gameplay of a similar game type, you'll know it better for other games of the same genre, and it doesn't necessarily matter which game you started out with.
 
No, Source does not have the same aspects as other games, Yes the keys are the same and they have the same purpose, but they do not correlate in any other means. So yes your just that good.
 
You think 1.6 makes you good? lol...

Bet I could best you in BF2...
 
Really, its all about experience with first person shooters. Yeah, different games may be different in some ways, but you learn to adapt.

Roger that, big buddy.

Becoming good at any FPS will help you with any other FPS. Not saying you will "pwn da face" right away, but the adapt period will be shortened. Picked up TF2 the other day, and find myself on the top of the charts even thought i just started.
