eyeOS (Enjoy)

[Tanooki]

So for all of you interested in the whole new Cloud Computing era that is expected to rise later this year (Windows plans to come out with a Cloud OS, as well as VMware which is actually expected to compete with Windows in this type of OS department.) Then have I got a nice little try out for you that I found late last year and just remembered about until now...

Go forth and enjoy!!!!

interesting concept. Essentially you are running a server instead of a normal OS, and the server updates it self constantly allowing your files to be on your location and on the main eyeOS server. This would be good for having an automatic backup system, but you can only use eyeOS apps. No linux apps, nor windows apps. I imagine that if going on the net and typing txt files is all you do then this might be useful, but other than that.... its not worth the trouble of installing a new OS.
There are plenty of free apps for both Linux and windows that accomplish what this OS tries to do.

Honestly this is only a look into the new world of Cloud OS's. Windows plans to come out with one this year as well as VMware. You will be able to download and install apps to both of these, as you should be able to with eyeOS. The purpose of running it off of their server is mainly to test it out. I haven't downloaded eyeOS yet, just been playing around with it, but you should be able to install apps with the download and install apps with with the installable version.
