I have no problem with "e's" telling pub's to watch their language, it show they are dedicated to ego but on two occasions yesterday when dealing with problems I had "e's" butt in, one was an inappropriate name which I dealt with then after I put on the screen "members should read the rules" I did not name the "e" so as not point a finger.
The other was a pub complaining about my ping 270, I tried explaining to him that my ping should not affect his game and the pub and the "e" kept telling me I was wrong, perhaps I was wrong but the "e" should not butt in. Can anything more be done to to get new members to read the rules.

I have read the rules many times but, you are right there are many who think they know everything without having read the rules or something.
 
Yeah I think I'm with you on this one (e)'s sometime try and take things into their own hands which leads to pubs saying "you ain't admin you can't tell me what to do" which then breaks out into an arguement, another thing is ping my ping is quite high because I live in the UK but I know that my ping doesn't lag but when I kill some pubs and (e)'s they complain, I think they should be reminded about the rules regularly.... This doesn't apply to the (e)'s who do things the right way, for example sky high ;)
 
well actually your ping would not effect him but it would effect you so technically it would be in the e's advantage for your ping to be high but i don't believe there is anything in the rules about complaining
 
I agree with you here. Some (e) tried telling me to watch my language because I said piss. I had an eGO back me up saying that piss is OK to say.
 
Regarding the ping. Are high ping players more prone to skipping on my screen? If so doesn't that make them increasingly hard to shoot.
 
I just like to have a good time... I'm not even a fan of talking down to pubs let alone eGs and eGOs.
 
Well, I don't have a high ping, but I do have a low FPS because my computer is old. I have been told before that I'm choppy in my movements and in close combat it makes it harder lol. But I can't help that, honestly it makes it just as hard for me. When I get around a lot of people i get 2 FPS, that makes all those people staring at me with their barrels pointed at my vitals all the more advantaged lol. It depends on how you look at it.

As for London's original comment I have run into this problem as well and unless it truly causes a problem I generally let it slide. It's appreciated that an e feels the want to keep the servers clean as well. I personally am new to being an eG and I know as an e member when there was no admin present I would do my best to let people know our rules when they made mistakes. When an admin was present though I would simply step aside and allow them to handle the situation.

We as admins need to make the correction for several reasons. One of which i think people forget is logging. Anytime we correct someone in admin chat it can be logged which is for us to make sure if we have to kick or ban someone we have gone through the proper channels and have records to reference. So just bare that in mind guys and the fact that sometimes as stated above it can cause issues, just make sure to allow us to do our jobs as admin, we'll take care of your game play experience and keeping the servers clean after all, it's what we are here for ;-)
 
I am not technically minded but I can say with some certainty that most of he opposing team have no problem with killing me, players complaining was not the issue it was the "e's" telling me what to do. "e's" should never butt into an eGO's discussion with another player. If any player think the eGO is wrong there is a right way to go about it.

Publicly questioning a superior, or any admin for that matter, should not happen. Simple as that. You don't go around telling your boss what he is doing wrong in front of the rest of the staff. You don't do it there and it is not acceptable here.

Yes. If someone has a high ping it can cause everyone else to lag as well, and they will jump around every where.

No on the first part. A person with high ping will not cause the rest of the server to lag. That is a myth. Slayr posted about that. It's a sticky at the top of this forum page.

I think I asked someone to not say, "Damn It!" once in TF2 and was corrected because the engie in TF2 says it all of the time. Some words are hard to judge though because they are culturally instulting. I say fricken a lot which is german for the F word. You will never hear me say the F word. I remember once when I first joined eGO i was yelled at for saying fricken. I told the admin that I would stop but it wasn't a bad word.

Bloody Wanker is another word that is like that. But you can say that too me as much as you want because I am just going to laugh at you.


As for the ping thing, i have seen times when someone with a 1000 ping has lagged a server. I think people are normally in the 100s though so that shouldn't be a problem. But the higher your ping is the more likely you are going to get killed by someone with a lower ping. Just the way it works.
 
theres plenty of players who just want in for the tag and dont really frankly care whether or not they are doing the right thing or not...when they make an app. theres really no way of telling whether they are that type...but i understand what your saying london
