Wassup, Spies often take advantage of new players who play heavy or soldier or some other "high priority" class. Well here is a guide for all new players who want to ensure that spies are a bit less of a trouble. This guide will teach you how to recognize and kill them before they wreak havoc on your team.
Same nick as you
When you see a teammate who is having exactly same nick as you, he is a spy for sure cuz if someone can't have the exact same nick as you, the game will add "(1)", without quotes to the player who came on the server as the second player with the same nick.
Non existing class
This is an often spy mistake when there are teams of less than 6 players. You can recognize them by taking a quick look at the scoreboard, all you need to see are the classes of your teammates. If there is a teammate whose class is not listed in the scoreboard he is a spy.
Class in odd places
What is a sniper doing in the intel room? What is a scout doing on the last CP? What is a medic doing around sentry guns? Retorical questions, don't answer. He is spying. When you see a guy whose class is not where it is suppose to be spycheck immediately. Or the guy is just a N00b.
Cloaked soy bumping into you
When a cloaked spy bumps into you you will see some sort of distortion, you see a cloaked spy figure. Humiliating kill time.
Running away from pyros
Common mistake that new spies make. Running away from friendly pyros is a sure sign that something is not right. Perhaps he is afraid of fire or he is a spy.
Friendly push away.
All right, this is a good trick, when you bump into your teammate you will get pushed away, but when you bump into a disguised spy you will not get pushed away. Once again an opportunity for a nice melee kill.
Class speed
Spy-scout only. Disguised spies take the speed of the class they are using as disguise, except when they disguise as a scout. Than they will still have normal spy movement speed.
Spy-medic recognition
The disguise weapon for spy-medic is his primary weapon. These guys won't heal anyone. If you call him to heal you he wont do that. Altough, this is not always true.
Bubbles in the water
If a spy chooses a water route to your back lines, you will see bubbles in the water and there will be no one except you. Or is there??? Just wait until you and him get out of the water and than kill him.
"Teammate" being healed by enemy medic
Sometimes stupid medics break their teammates cover by healing him to get the ubercharge. Take the spy out and than kill his medic. Two for one.
"Teammate" not being shot at by enemy team members
Yep, often spy mistake. They think that they slip behind your lines without cloaking. Show them that they are sadly mistaken.
"Teammate" ignited by friendly pyro
Last but not least. If your "teammate" is ignited by friendly pyro he is a spy for sure. Let the pyro finish the job or kill the spy yourself. Also if you see moving flame than there is a cloaked spy that got ignited.
Ammo pack disappearing in front of you
If you see an ammo pack just disapper in front of you it is probably becouse a cloaked spy took it.
Leeching spies
Sometimes enemy spies will leach health and ammo from your teams dispensers. But some will do this while cloaked so you should see a beam from the dispenser.
Spy disguised as enemy
These will still have a nameplate even though they are not on your team.
Summary
I hope I helped to all you new players who are tired of being owned by spies. Feel free to comment this guide but do not post it on other sites without my permission.
