Give it a break!

As for getting over it well that's just not for me. I paid for the game; Valve is making money, they don't deserve a break when the mess with the consumers. They shipped an unfinished update by not including the trading feature.

The problem I have with this is that the original game you speak of paying for is still there. All the flaws are to be had with getting the new content. You say they've broken the game when nothing is actually broken about the game. Just because you can't get their free goodies doesn't mean the game's ruined; the game you payed for is still there; you're just complaining about how hard it is to get entirely free content that was added on because Valve is a nice company. So what if you're not getting free crap? It's not like you deserve it. You've payed nothing for it! The entire game is still there, and it's still functional, and it's still fun. The free content is flawed, sure, but you lose nothing by not receiving it, and therefore have little to no right to act as if you have been wronged.

Note that I keep saying 'you' but I'm referring to the 'universal you' here. (i.e. everyone in general.) I don't have a personal vendetta against you.

+1 to Dan.

Just be glad you dont have to pay real cash for the items.

Then you have no right telling people they cannot complain

I never said people coudlnt complain. I was just asking that they calm it down a bit.

Your right, but its getting out of hand. Valves "Contact Us" mail boxes are full of spam from people unhappy with the update. The Steam forums are spammed with "We hate Valve!". Even other gaming communities are doing protests against Valve.

Theres a difference between a polite email/letter and the things listed above.

I'm not at all advocating for childish measures, but personally, I find the new update displeasing in its presentation.

I suppose I should structure my argument like this.

You own a car (TF2). Your car breaks down/get's something added to it/needs repair (tf2 upgrade). You take it to a shop to get it fixed. Company fixes car (Valve). In the process, said car is given an additional free muffler that is quieter than your current one (class upgrades). You, being a car enthusiast, enjoy the sound of a great engine roaring, however, under contract/state law/etc. you can not put your old muffler back on. Or you have to drive 50,000 miles in order to get your old muffler/new muffler/however you want to put the argument.

The main point is this. As a paying customer, you may not get the same benefits as other paying customers. Since there is no link of achievements to items. You could possibly play for all of eternity and never get said item. Odds are you will, but say you are unlucky and you don't ever get jarate/ambassador/insert weapon here. With achievements, there are milestones you can break in order to get said weapon. With this system, there is no guarantee you will ever get any items you want. You could play for years and end up with 500 natasha's but no new spy weapons. It's unlikely, but possible.

So other paying customers will get said weapons, but I won't. As someone who paid for the game equally, I have beef with that.

tl;dr - System does not guarantee retrieval of weapons, competitive disadvantage for other players who may never get said weapons. Not what I paid for.
